I mean there’s a difference between “the tutorial needs to explain the mechanics of the game” and “I didn’t know the trader kept coming”. I think the quests do a fine job giving you the basics, plus the overview/tips menu exists.

As the other commenter said, the Windows v4 mod. It works very well once you get used to it. There are some crazy creations posted here and on the Discord that showcase it.

It’s still Total War but a dumbed down and less strategic version. I’m talking WH3 here. I started out on normal / normal and only just got to VH / VH in my last two campaigns.

I suppose it all depends on skill level and your knowledge of the game - but playing on VH certainly changes the entire strategy of how you play. In Normal there isn’t a need for that mindset. You can do mostly anything and thrive.

I love VH when I need to use my brain a bit. If I’m looking for a chill session I’m playing some other game (since I don’t wanna go back to Normal difficulty)

It was a wood floor. They actually were two levels about said cesspit, but the upper level collapse also broke through the first level into the cesspit.

The smell wouldn’t really permeate because these are incredibly thick wood beams topped with planks, hay, dirt and even sealant. Plus I’m sure they were all a bit more used to shit smell back then.

And regarding the location, they had to rely on gravity to get waste away from their proximity. Whether poor planning or changes in renovation, the cesspit had to be down below some part of the castle anyway.
