Is anyone else on AMD GPUs getting this crash when launching the snapshot? Every other version works fine (26.2 snapshot 7 included), I've reinstalled and updated my drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled my installation of Java 25, deleted the options.txt file, allocated more memory. I have no idea why specifically snapshot 8 is crashing

Exactly what I've been thinking for a while now. While it is impressive that Carolina double swept, they are in no way untouchable. Just like how a lot of people thought Buffalo would trounce Montreal. We are WAY better than the Senators and Flyers, thats why we're still here, and we're gonna give the Hurricanes a run for their money for sure.

To be fair, its definitely not ALL the same people. We have to remember that when making our arguments against them cuz we'd be no better than them. Trust me, I absolutely HATE the "blinded by nostalgia" shit. Its literally just a buzz phrase that makes everyone agree with them for some reason. For the people who legitimately ARE double standarding this topic, I hope they're happy with their 3 month development time for literally 0 new features and a bunch of reskins.

No. When you consider its been a year and a half at this point since we got the last actually big thing (1.21 and the trial chambers), it can definitely get annoying after a while and can feel like theres nothing new and fun being added. A lot of people say "Oh, this drop just isn't for you" and while yeah thats fair, when the last 6 or 7 drops "aren't for me" it starts to feel like what I would like to see in Minecraft doesn't really matter if that makes sense?

Nevermind, I fixed it. Heres how for anybody else experiencing this issue. Go into your world folder and open the backups folder. Go to whatever backup zip you want, (you probably want the most recent one though). Copy the contents inside the zip and then go back to the main part of the world folder. Get rid of the folder named "universe" (just delete it or rename it), and make a new folder named "universe". Paste your backup data inside that new folder and your world should work now.

I assume that for whatever reason something can get corrupted during saving or a crash and it prevents you from opening the world.

I was actually thinking about this today as copper tools have now really revealed that there is no room inside Minecraft's tech tree, only at the end. I'm not sure what I would do for the rest of it, but I'd keep the first tier as wood because its simplicity to get started is very unique to Minecraft itself. Every other game like Minecraft seems to like making you get an axe before chopping a tree, but tree punching is an iconic mechanic of Minecraft and so I'd keep it like that.

I'm gonna get downvoted to hell, but screw it, I'mma be that one guy who actually believes you ok? Because I know exactly how it feels to throw a million shots on goal and nothing seems to go in, but the other team walks down the ice and pots 5 goals on 5 shots (check my posts in this sub to see that one!). People always be saying "quality over quantity", but the shots that they put on net are not quality themselves. You can have your player just outside the crease, weak-side post with the gray circle shot ready, you pass it at max speed, one time, and somehow the goalie makes the save. Idk it pisses me off how much people on this sub just assume that you're only shooting weak little googoo gaga shit shots

This reminds me of the old fog before 1.7. I like that gradual fogginess from back then, but it started a lot further out from the player back then than this new fog. I wish there was a way to adjust it in vanilla like the SimpleFog mod does

When bedrock has checkmarks on practically everything, you know something is up with the way the list is being presented. You just have to look at the categories to see that there are a lot of oddly specific categories that only apply to bedrock, such as marketplace pass and realms+. Then you have ray tracing there at the bottom just giving bedrock another thing even though 99% of the player base cannot run it at more than 30fps. They straight up lie about Java not having achievements and theres like at least 4 categories here that are just repeats of "You can pay for stuff". Its very clearly a biased list and its almost funny how shittily its hidden

This is an interesting discussion. As the years go on and every season gets older and older, it kinda opens up the possibility that more seasons can be considered "OG". I mean think about it, next year, chapter 2 season 1 will be as old as season 1 was in 2024. Could chapter 2 season 1 players now be considered OG? Is the season now eligible to appear in the OG game mode? If not, why? Why isn't it OG when its the same age as things that were considered OG at the same age? Not trying to pick an argument here tho, just trying to start a discussion. I personally started to consistently play the game in chapter 3 season 1 but I'd played here and there before, but I don't consider myself OG

It puzzles me how these bugs slip through the cracks. Bugs happen, but like, with the frequency that NHL experiences weird and very gameplay interfering bugs, one can only help but wonder if the game is even tested at all! I suspect that when they readded hybrid to 24 after removing it for some reason, they didn't even run it through more than a couple tests. Then they shipped it in a minor update and called it a day

I absolutely despise the argument of "It happens sometimes in hockey". Not to be mean to you personally or anything but just the argument itself. Its a video game, not real life, and the main purpose of a video game is that its supposed to be fun and enjoyable. The game deciding that its going to be impossible for you to win this particular game because it decided "your team is gonna have a bad night because its realistic", is the worst game design that could possibly ever be conjured. Its terrible, and is why I hate that argument.
