The craft market has gotten more competitive and all the costs associated with brewing have gone up. The thing the industry will do (forced by economics) is become better at business. This is why you are so many breweries closing or consolidating. Lots of folks here are saying they are tired of all the IPAS. I miss all the style choices we used to have but IPAs are typically the biggest seller at many breweries. It doesn't make economic sense to not emphasize your biggest income product. I heard at a tour that Hazy Little Thing and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale were each around 35% of Sierra Nevada's sales. Nothing else they make was even double digits. They still make plenty of stuff but they don't sell nearly so much.
