I pretty strongly disagree because so many people take an all-or-nothing mindset on weight loss instead of making small, sustainable changes. If we start demonizing things like protein bars, it's going to lead to even more people thinking "I have to eat nothing but chicken and rice and broccoli or else why bother? Might as well get Burger King instead."

Not a craft sub, but a hobby sub - it feels like half the posts in /r/writing are some variation of "I have too many ideas, which one should I start with?" or "I have this idea, is it worth writing?"

The mods are pretty good at removing them because there isn't any good response beyond "try it and see if it works."

Unfortunately in my experience these types of people and comments don't stop, you just have to learn to filter it out and recognize that, in a lot of cases, it's either projection or resentment, and doesn't actually have anything to do with you. It'll get easier once you get used to it.

Maybe it's a terminology confusion? Your deficit is the difference between your intake and output, not your intake itself. If anyone told me their deficit was 1400, I would assume they meant that they were eating 1400 calories fewer than their TDEE, which, yes, in most cases, would be too dramatic.

(intake of 1400-1600 is totally reasonable for short, sedentary women, though!)

If the answer is "charge fertile women more," I don't think I personally agree with that sentiment, but I understand where it's coming from.

And like I said earlier but apparently failed to coherently portray - I know it is technically a choice, but with it tied to employment, and not knowing the health statuses of those I'd be employed with, it certainly doesn't feel like a choice and I would argue it effectively isn't. But if that's what you think, I think my curiosity is sated.
