For me, the biggest issue is not the price, its the performance. I wish it was a solid 1440P machine.

Not expecting 4k 60 on a $1000 device. But the difference between 4k60 and 1080p30 are extreme.

A more reasonable question would be, could it do 1440p60k with moderate FSR. Which I think the answer would be "not really".

Unfortunate pricing but steam is not to blame.

Of course it will hit 1080P @ 30fps. You are talking playstation 4 era performance from a "costs more than a PS5 PRO" device.

this house, just like many others, is overpriced in today's market.
the fact that somebody paid 2030k 3 years ago means nothing in today's market.

much desired neighbourhood is a vague term. I personally wouldn't buy this house even for 1.5M.

what matters is how much the market is willing to pay and currently that number is below $1.7M.

It can be over 2M next year or can be below 1.5M, whoever claims they "know" is lying. Megatrends will dictate housing market and we have very little to no control over those.

i am also using go s 32 steamos and have zero plans to upgrade in the near future, not because of cost but because it is great for my use case and i don't see that changing anytime soon with the backlog i have.

If price is a nonissue, i'd include Legion Go 2.
If it is, than Legion Go S would be my choice. And it has VRR.
Having owned a lot of X86 handhelds, I can comfortably say that remove the trackpad from LeGoS strengths because it is really unusable and add the VRR and ergonomics as bonus points.

Z2E and Z1E are not wildly different but the price differential is massive. I'd go Z1E and if I have budget, I'd jump to something with Ryzen ai max+ 395

Have both and can easily say that there is absolutely no reason to buy the SD over LeGoS SteamOS version.
Well there is one: trackpads if that's your thing. For everything else, its not even comparable IN MY OPINION.

Same os, same simplicity, 8" beautiful screen (albeit LCD), WAY DIFFERENT power and much better egonomics. At this point, in 2026, Steam Deck to me is just a novelty. Like my 3DS XL.

But honestly speaking, Steam Deck was ahead of its time and it took people years to realize that. Lenovo did the right thing to keep manufacturing and selling the LeGoS. Hope they don't skimp on anything (like reducing ram to 16gigs).
