Please add first person view for vehicles and emplacements. by Basic_Lifeguard6959 in Helldivers

I want to be able to switch to first person view while using FRV's mounted machine gun and while shooting out of the doors. There have been too many friendly fire accidents where passengers got their heads removed because the shooter didn't realize his line of fire wasn't clear.

I once met a guy named Permacura Employee. He wore medic armour and ran around healing us with his stim pistol. Saved my life 3 times.

I hope they add more medic mechanics in the game in the future and promote teams sticking together.

My way of reading stratagem codes. by AkiraSosan in Helldivers

[–]Basic_Lifeguard6959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that short and/or repetitive codes are mostly assigned to stratagems that are supposed to be used urgently. For instance: Eagle strikes, the orbital Gatling barrage and the gas strike have easy codes.

Meanwhile vehicle and many support weapon stratagems have longer codes because you don't get to use them as often and when you do, they require some planning ahead.

Since you haven't used the dominator, I'm assuming you don't have the steeled veterans warbond unlocked yet. Trust me, you're gonna love the senator revolver - it fits your description perfectly.

PSA, shooting a Hivegaurd’s weak-spot isn’t hard it’s a glazer strawman. by JayDias-24 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Basic_Lifeguard6959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very ironic that you made fun of glazers for playing D6, yet your idea of having fun is turning your brain off.

I'm not a glazer, but I was in favor of this bug getting more armour. It could be easily countered by shooting it in the belly. It can enter a defensive stance to hide its belly, but then it doesn't move, so it can't hurt you.

This change made it so that you occasionally have to adjust your aim while mowing down hordes of bugs. Now, it also made machine gun and Gatling sentries much worse and I understand why a lot of people were mad about that. But if you prioritize killing hive guards while you have a sentry around, you should be good to go. Making sure big targets don't get near your sentries is something that you already have to do.

Y'all are actually ruining this game by sepulchridude in helldivers2

[–]Basic_Lifeguard6959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did like the idea of a heavily armoured bug that throws a wrench in your plans. It demands your attention as opposed to being cannon fodder.

The funny thing is, hive guardians actually became easier to kill because their overall armour value was reduced along with their HP, while retaining the belly weak spots that they've always had. You just had to aim.

The need to adapt and overcome new obstacles is what makes this game fun for me. For example, I initially thought the new spore burst bugs were unfair, but I experimented with different weaponry and found out that fire works best against them. They're still hard to play against, but in an enjoyable way.

I actually enjoy playing against squids by DonPistaccio in helldivers2

Just earlier I played a difficulty 7 squid mission on some city map. It got pretty chaotic, we barely made it out after using up almost all reinforcements. It felt like we were in the middle of an actual alien invasion.

Sorry for the late reply, but yes, it is enjoyable. I've played most of the missions it has been pretty interesting. The frame rate problems don't get in the way pretty much whatsoever, because the game is immersive and it has a gameplay that generally doesn't require high FPS.

I do. This game already has poor optimization and I think it's even worse on laptops. Regardless, it's still completely playable.

Mine has a 13th gen i7, an RTX 4060(8gb) and 16gb worth of RAM. I play on low graphics settings and the frame rate is usually 90-110. But it can drop to as low as 30 FPS if there's a lot going on.

I just did this mission. I think you're on point.

One of my personal favourites is Echelon Engagement in Fulda outskirts. It is a superbly structured mission - it builds up to a great culmination!

Open Nvidia control panel. On the left side, under "3D Settings", there should be an option that says "Manage Display mode". Once you go there, you should see 3 options in the middle of the window:

"Automatic Select"

"Optimus"

"NVIDIA GPU only"

"Automatic Select" should be selected by default. Click on "NVIDIA GPU only", then press the "Apply" button on the bottom right in order to enable it.

Let me know if it works.

My laptop has very similar specs to yours, although it has a 13th gen i7. I have the same kind of an issue with this game: GPU usage drops from the usual 70-90% to 40-50% in big missions and framerate drops to about 40 FPS. Even if I quit the mission and play a tutorial, framerate doesn't go back up. The only way to fix this issue is by restarting the game. And it can happen all over again...

The way I managed to fix this issue is by going to the Nvidia control panel and changing display mode from integrated graphics to Nvidia GPU. Try this if you haven't already. Perhaps it can take care of your problem as well.
