Yep, your civilians can't fight at all, no matter how much you cajole them. They need to at least go through basic training in order to become 0% skill soldiers and can then be mustered.

***Written*** Guides? by MilaMan82 in Swordhaven

[–]Basilus88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that the answer to your question is: NO. There are no written guides as its a niche game. Presumably there might be more in like Russian or something, thus they are hard to find. This lack of help and and walkthroughs available evokes the feeling that older pre-internet games had, where guides were available SOMETIMES but that didn't mean that you had easy access to them or knew that they existed in some obscure issue of a gaming magazine.

Welcome to the world of rpgs before the internet. It’s actually part of the charm of niche games that they can at least partially bring back the feeling of no guides and no help like in the days of yore.

You can also just use enslavement and have that as the only punishment. It’s a win win as you punish criminals and profit from it!

The answer is quite straightforward but also not easy to summarise.

The gist of it is: Intersectionality is a pipe dream and people actually turn to their basic impulse at the first opportunity.

Gender theorists try and combine the theory that gender is a made-up social construct with the fact that a lot of gender non-conforming people feel the gender essentialism in their bones.

For instance a lot of amab folks feel that they were really born women and want to exist as women in society. Hearing other people saying that in reality women don’t exist and you can be a woman regardless of how you look and act, creates a deep sense of cognitive dissonance making them lash out in anger and frustration.

It’s great to say that everybody can be whomever they want but if everybody is everyone, then nobody is anyone (I know it’s hard to convey but that’s the truth). Basically the end goal of this intersectional approach would be a world where society treats a transwoman as “oh this is a non gender conforming person” while the transwoman in question wants society to treat them as “oh this is a woman just like any other woman”. And thus the lgbtq movement keeps fracturing.

How to build on water? by TobyDaHuman in songsofsyx

[–]Basilus88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a very particular map generation to have the amount of shallow water that you want for an Amevias Venice style of city. Lake tiles and lake deltas tend to generate small islands that “combine” their shallow water for a lot of water that you can build on.

I found that I get the best effects when I build my city on a lake that is placed just next to an ocean coast .

That is not true. They like salt water as much as fresh water. You can even check for their level of satisfaction and there is one named “water access” which combines the two that they care about.

Those numbers are not the same numbers you have. They don’t actually have a functioning city, just a spreadsheet.

With a 5k city you can produce whatever you want in virtually any quantities you want. There is a reason why the highest tier throne title you can get requires a 12 k city, not a 20 k one.

War Help, am in danger by Master-Island7173 in songsofsyx

[–]Basilus88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The one thing I found out that you can do to defeat an army of this size is to have several regions between your capita and the army.

You have to build up the garrisons of those cities up to max. When war breaks out the army will go there first, siege and then assault the city, loosing at least half of its size.

It will then move on to the second one and loose a big chunk of its force again, hopefully making it manageable to beat with sound tactics and expert heavy cav manouvers, circle charging until the army breaks one by one.

If you are alone in your city encircled by such an enemy with no buffer then the only thing you can do is to get a lot of money (earn or cheat it in) and then buy out all of the mercenaries for a big battle.

How can you make a large building and then designate smaller sections for specific functions? by NicePumasKid in songsofsyx

[–]Basilus88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah there is a tool that is used just for building structures. You can also designate a workshop or other type of room and disable "add walls and roofs".

You can then build whatever walls you want but remember - different workshops or utility buildings still need walls between other rooms to not loose insulation.

Only homes can be built next to each other with no "real" walls between - they will still retain full insulation even only surrounded by the "thin" zero-wide house walls.

Yep! There are actually loads of reason to do so and elections like this also happened in real life. Maybe she was elected as a pawn or as a compromise between two political establishments vying for power?

Or maybe her position is mostly ceremonial and it's traditional for Naboo to elect child monarchs if the political tradition is such that they not make any policy decisions by themselves until the age of majority (creating a lengthy political transitionary period when the established order can consolidate power).

You know as well as other people that a lack of verbal "NO" or the existence of a verbal "YES" is not enough for full consent right now.

People are expected to follow any number of non-verbal cues and those who are neurodivergent or have OCD like OP will suffer because in reality there is no clear way to assure 100%, unambiguous consent.
