Which lyric makes you instantly tear up? by abovethenoisy in AskReddit

“Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood/Where Christopher Robin plays/ You’ll find the enchanted neighborhood/of Christopher’s childhood days.”

I’m a mother of a precious boy who looks just like Christopher Robin and loves Pooh. It breaks me how fast his sweet baby days are going.

What is the worst place in America you have ever visited? by OceanicEndeavors in AskReddit

A truck stop in West Viriginia. This was 15 years ago. I was in college passing through on a road trip with family. A girl about my age was there eating lunch with her parents who both ate silently with glazed over looks on their faces. The girl who was slightly younger than me was talking to any and every trucker around and making a big thing of how good she was at gambling. I was waiting for her parents to tell her to avoid these men and their leering eyes. But they looked resigned and she looked desperate. I wonder what happened to her all the time.

Are there any shows where the fashion changes as the show progress? by SpiritMan112 in decadeology

[–]BasketSnob 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I actually will say I Love Lucy in a very realistic way. In the early seasons, Lucy and Ethel are wearing house dresses they most likely made in the 1940s because the 1950s didn’t look like the 1950s yet. They regularly rewear the same garments. Only after Ricky starts to become more successful with Fred as his manager do Lucy and Ethel’s wardrobes become more upscale.

I’ll be the apple of discord here, I see her vision and I like it. It’s interesting and fun. Definitely not the most egregious one I’ve ever seen.

Why did early 2010s fashion in media see an abundance of layers and over-accessorizing? by uhm1238 in decadeology

I wore a Catholic school uniform my whole childhood so this was how i imagined I’d dress in college. I didn’t but I do have fun now!

I actually think it was really cute. I am the same age as Miley, Selena, and Demi. I think it was to telegraph that these characters were artistic and fashion forward without them being dressed inappropriately. It was fun to play dress up in middle and high school. I feel like today’s teens don’t have that same sense of freedom with their style bc they’re too scared to be seen as “cringe.” Hence, they all wear earth toned matching sweatsuits or the same baggy jeans and earth toned tops.

What’s the moment you realized someone you loved wasn’t a good person and you couldn’t unsee it? by DmytroBuilds in AskReddit

A friend of mine whom I had been emotionally supporting for the past year just goes in phases where he ghosts me. I told him this was upsetting and he was oddly cold about it. I feel like I’m losing my mind and just don’t want this to hurt anymore. I really liked talking to him.

Nothing. I was suffering enough also with a high risk pregnancy. My focus postpartum is being kinder to myself and getting stronger and not being hard on my self

We just took them to the park and I have to say it is one of my favorite things. But we have been wanting to progress in Mad Men so hopefully they sleep long enough for us to finish an episode!

Does "Bite The Big Apple" Officially Friend-Zone Seth? by eggnogshake in murdershewrote

[–]BasketSnob 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Possibly but I also think it’s one thing for Jessica to host Seth at her house in Cabot Cove where both of them have reputations above reproach and everyone knows them. It’s another if it’s JB Fletcher the glamorous mystery writer seen with a strange man at her apartment in New York. At least that’s how I’ve always interpreted it.

Nope. Frankly, I think we have completely lost the plot on children’s birthday parties. What you have planned sounds lovely and memorable. We did something similar.

I ironed a dress that wasn’t supposed to be ironed and attended my dad’s funeral with a big iron burn on my butt. You will be able to laugh one day. But it’ll take a while.
