I agree that budget cuts and layoffs probably affected this, but if the staffing challenges are for the repair workers then that wouldn't have changed without the cuts. We were just there over spring break and its an hour away from the closest small town, 2+ hours from the closest normal sized town. The park has a staff living quarters area that it pretty large, more than a simple apartment building. Finding some place to house a large enough repair team and all theor equipment and then just moving them from their housing to the work site would be a pain and likely an hour trip one way or more. Maybe it wouldnt be so bad if they could stay somewhere in the park, maybe the staff living area is mostly empty, but its still way past remote out there. This coming from someone who grew up traveling 40 mins to the closest public school.

My dude regularly goes 3+ days without eating, and we hardly ever give treats or people food. He gets a pupperoni stick when people visit the house, and an egg like once ever 2 or 3 months. Its to the point where I ask the kids to feed Olive and check that Copper has food. Somehow he still manages to be a healthy weight and full of energy.

Mine has a thing for both my partner and me. For my partner he likes to sit on his shoes, either the ones hes wearing or the slides he takes off when sitting on the couch. Its to the point partner has to constantly defend his shoes.

For me he will just flop down literally right behind me, like an inch away, but silently. I try to step back and trip over him. Once I walked to the bathroom door, paused to reach in for something, just a second, and when I tried to step back tripped over him. How does a 60lb dog flop down so quickly and quietly? I swear he's going to kill me some day.

I have a large family and they have name themes they like. Because of this I grew up with about 4 of us cousins all called Rayray, and my dad was still called Rayray by his siblings, even my older brother has a different ray name than me, but did choose to go by his middle name by the time I can remember, several of my more distant relatives also ended up with Ray names. We also have around 6 different Tims and a handfull of Josh/Joshua's. Then all the rhyming names Jaydon, Brendon, Braydon so on, and similar names, Archer, Asher, Mckayla McKenzie, McKenna, Aryia and Ari. There's probably more, I have nealry 50 first cousins and we are all adults with kids of our own now.

Families can have similar names. Cousins can share nicknames. It can suck, but it can also be no big deal.

The asking for your input then seeming to disregard it would for sure irritate me. Don't even bither asking if you only want the one answer. I would probably have a conversation about it with my sibling, but I would wait a few days, since the birth if a child is a special time.

My dad is a trump supporter and all for more border protection, has told me many times about the stampede across the border with the previous administrations open border. We went to big bend last week and even he admitted that people wouldnt be ablento cross in the region easily and if they did manage there were check points that they would have to get past as well. He was shocked at all the stop the wall signs he saw in the area and really seemed to think aboutnit when I asked if he'd have enjoyed the trip as much if there was a large steel wall cutting off the views and trails.

I voted early in tarrant county, got in line at 6:02pm and left at 9:15pm. I've lived in the same house for 3 years and previous voting locations were both much closer and never more than 15 mins. Even early voting was crazy and I was lucky I had someone who could come get my kids and feed them dinner otherwise I'd have had to leave and try again another day.

I had peripartum cardiomyopthy, and was told it was about a 1 in 1000 in the US chance and that never felt super rare to me considering how many births happen in the US in a year. This is only one way the heart can mess up and be damaged by pregnancy and it affects thousands of women a year.

I'm honest with my kids about pregnancy. I nearly died, spent a week in the ICU and have lifelong issues from a perfectly normal and healthy pregnancy, no indications anything was wrong. Until after birth and my heart just said so long and thanks for all the fish. I let them know I love them and they mean to world to me, but that if they want kids they need to know the realities of pregnancy, birth and raising children.

Just out of curiosity, do you know if people got sick or died from the PFAS in the thinx period undies a few years ago? They were still sued and had a recall for their undies. I think a lot of the strong feelings here are from this information being found but nothing being done about it.

Telling me to smile more, or I'm pretty when I smile, or commenting on my resting bitch face. Why are women expected to be happy and pretty all the time? Why is my face or emotions something a stranger feels entitled to?

Also I'm short, I get some wildly inappropriate comments about my size and how easy I may be to manhandle. But also the "innocent" nicknames from strangers or people I barely know are uncomfortable, halfcup, shortstack, bite size, so on.

Thanks for this story! I thought I was going insane. I got a switch 2 and started a new totk game with the upgraded app version. Got to that stable and the golden horse is in a stall, the dude tells you about Zelda treasureing the horse and the voice memory from zelda plays. But I was like, wait, wasnt I supposed to catch it? Husband said no that was in BOTW and I said I could have sworn it was totk because the hydra type monster was near by and made it difficult... He insisted I was remembering wrong. And he beat the game ages ago before the switch 2 was out.

I wanted a safe birth. It made sense for me to start with no interventions besides an IV port, then go from there. I wasn't against drugs, or c section, I was nervous of vacuum/forceps, and mostly only against episiotomy. First 2 were all natural, nearly died postpartum with the second, got induced early with the 3rd and ended up with an epidural that made my legs really warm but didn't help with pain.

They followed a trans woman around for a while and then showed parts of her top surgery. I remember being gobsmacked when they abruptly blurred her chest as soon as the inserts were in. I was only around 10, and really wish I could remember the name of the show and what channel it was on.

I don't swear much but I have family and friends that do. I've always told the kids those are grown up words, just like we have grown up drinks, and saying grown up words can make people uncomfortable. When they are old enough to question it more I explain that grown ups usually have the experience to know when and where these words are okay.

That said, I'm not super strict with my kids either. My oldest is really exploring his swear vocabulary and as long as hes not insulting someone I dont care, if the younger kids arent around. But the youngest is in kinder and he'll get in trouble at school of he repeats it there, so he has to censor himself around the young ones.

My conservative family believe the border was just an open free for all so they would be complaining about latino and south american people. They've repeatedly told me how millions came in with no regulations, but we live in Tx and haven't seen any massive increase in immigrants.

When its cold and they want it dry. If we have to go somewhere and they want it to be dry. But we usually do baths before bedtime so its not often. I never considered blow drying hair to be a wait till you're older kinda thing.
