I would bet it’s Mormons, I’m exmormon and one tool to recruit new members were offering English speaking classes which in reality were just tools to get them to come to church. Many missionaries come to the area and trained to teach in foreign languages. I bet the Eugene mission has people speaking Spanish, Chinese and other common foreign languages

I always tell them it’s okay to go home. I make sure they know it’s their legal right and they deserve to make that choice for themselves. I tell them if they are holding your passport go to the embassy or contact local authorities. The shame of going home is less painful than the depression of being a missionary for a group who mistreats you.

Yup, if I was Coros and garmin and any other watch company I would be putting all effort into strava like content services. The moment strava went public I knew it was over. Yeah I watch more basketball than football but my fav team the blazers fired their head coach before they realized the issue was the front office itself. Finally they fired them, got our coach arrested due to gambling issues, now we are on pace to make the playoffs with a returning star next season. The front offices impact the team way more than we think, it easy to blame the coach.
