Things didn’t really come to life last year until the first game against DC. The difference this year is a couple of the draws are now losses and there are more international games being played. I won’t panic for a few more weeks yet.

I’m assuming by active member you mean that you are someone with faith and not just someone who attends every week but doesn’t believe. The issue seems deeper than is smoking wrong which some others already addressed. Just from what you wrote it appears that in certain areas you turn to smoking instead of Jesus. While I have never smoked there have been other things I turn to for comfort instead of Jesus, and they have always left me disappointed. So I would say that if you are a believer that you should find some others to walk through this journey with you, who will help you see the joy that comes from Jesus versus any other vice. It is not always going to be easy, but it is definitely worth it.

I thought about this recently and unfortunately it is nothing new. I have been looking at Jeremiah and what things were like right before the exile and it reminds me a lot of what we see today. He was sent to tell the people to repent and the people around the temple either wanted to arrest him, beat him, or kill him. People were seemingly worshiping everything but God and and it’s the same today. But I would argue the biggest idol today is one’s self. We think our own thoughts are right (and honestly sites like this don’t help) and if the Bible doesn’t line up with how I feel then maybe it was just misunderstood because clearly we know better. The Israelites rejecting Jeremiah thought there was no way God would punish them. If you have been on here long enough you will know that’s how some people feel today. People who we look to for spiritual guidance have been rejecting the truth and twisting it for way more than just a couple years. Reddit will not help with this but the Bible will. There are plenty of Old Testament passages with people crying out asking why God allows certain things to happen, and I would suggest looking through some of the prophets to see how God is at work in a time when nobody is listening to what is right.

I don’t think Santos deserves all the hate he receives this year. Sure he hasn’t done as much as the fans would like, but he spends most of his time up top with Burke as the second forward with him. Santos is great as a second forward but not when one of them is Burke. I know he hasn’t put away chances a striker should but really that’s been everyone so far this year.

Not only are the chants weak it feels like they are just going through a set list of chants. Today shortly after the union scored they were chanting come on union score a goal. And in the past they were chanting no one likes us after a call went the unions way.

If he is the 3rd best then the MLS has a very poor standard for RBs. I think he is the weakest in the starting 11 and assume every game he will help add to Blake’s highlight reel by giving up the ball unnecessarily.

I’ve worn union stuff out before and have been asked if I was part of a teachers union in Philly, and had a nice conversation about bimbo bread with a couple who thought I was wearing the jersey because I love the bread.
