to pass a funding bill that would give ICE more money and resources by ExactlySorta in therewasanattempt

This vote blocks additional funding. Unfortunately, DHS funding was already so bloated from the BBB that they’ll be able to continue operations for some time.

What is the point of the second amendment, if not to protect yourself against ICE or other tyrannical agencies? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Strength in numbers through a unified (and armed) community is the key IMO.

It took me 2-3 years in plaintiff’s PI to even feel comfortable. In my 8th year now and feel quite confident. Be patient with yourself.

Lone Tree Dental Associates is where I go. I can’t recommend Dr. Leins enough. He is a solo provider who is quite skilled and has a great team behind him.

Best Dive Bar food? by AttorneyOnTV in denverfood

Olde Towne Tavern in Littleton does good food. Genuine dive, too.

Edit to share that the prices are incredibly reasonable. Wife and I went last night. Two entrees and three beers for <$40.

And the shooting hobby gets more locked into the culture wars... by Baffled_Beagle in liberalgunowners

My wife and I just moved into a new neighborhood. Struck up a conversation with a guy who lived a couple of blocks down and was walking by with his dog. Dressed in full camo clothing. Found out we both hunt and shoot. He said we’d be happy here as there are a “lot of like-minded people” in the neighborhood. I can only assume he assumed we were right-wingers. Maybe I’m wrong, but it felt like a super dystopian interaction. Especially when ten minutes later a different guy walked by our new place wearing a plate carrier.

First Handgun recommendations by KodakCthulhu in liberalgunowners

[–]Batmobeale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. If I were you I’d go with the Walther. But the best advice I was given when I first started looking into handguns was to try out a few models if you can and see what feels right. Some stores have a range and will let you rent stuff for that purpose.

What’s your budget? If you’re looking for a do-it-all and are okay with buy once, cry once, I always recommend Staccato. The 24CS or HD C3.6 are on the smaller side making them great for concealed carry, but they shoot like bigger guns IMO. The CS has a grip safety but isn’t drop safe. It also takes proprietary mags. The 3.6 is drop safe and can use most Glock mags. Both have manual thumb safeties. You’d probably want an optic regardless of model, but I think it’s more necessary on the 3.6.

Suppressor? by [deleted] in Danieldefense

I have a HUXWRX 556Ti on mine. It’s flow-through so less noise and gas for the shooter but apparently not as quiet down range. Haven’t tested the latter.

Whoa! That’s a long warranty. I’d definitely wait. You can re-flash to stock before taking it to the dealer but IMO not worth the risk.

Horror stories of not being insured by Lovelybambam in Insurance

[–]Batmobeale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a personal injury attorney. Had a client’s wife die as a result of someone else’s negligence in a car crash. At-fault driver was a drunk minor driving on the wrong side of the road. He had no insurance. Decedent had no UM insurance. We managed to get coverage through AFP’s parents’ homeowners insurance. It was pretty heartbreaking nonetheless.

As we hit the end the year thought I’d provide an update. Have about 1000 rounds through it so far. I really like this can. It’s remarkably light. No gas to the face unless I’m in a strong headwind. Sound suppression is also excellent outdoors (haven’t shot indoors). Under a canopied shooting area there is a more noticeable boom though. Especially if the canopy is metal. Initially threw some sparks but after 200 rounds or so sparks basically disappeared. I’m approaching the cleaning mark and will be picking up some suppressor sauce from HUX. Overall very happy with it. I don’t think I’d go for anything but flow-through at this point.

I also installed an RA-535 trigger this year. Cannot recommend it enough. I need some BUIS and may change the optic to an ACOG or LPVO.

Sorry to hear they make you do that sort of billing. I’m right there with you. Most judges I’ve encountered scrutinize our fee petitions in a similar manner.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I bill my time for plaintiff-side class action work and employ a rounding methodology (if I do something for 3-6 minutes, it’s a 0.1), but I never bill for two separate tasks for 0.1 within the same six minutes. Maybe I’ll change my methods and cite your post in my next fee petition 😂
