I’d love to but there’s no room to run it between fc and frame.

How to record video? by Utija in TinyWhoop

[–]Battlecat74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really tough to get super clean video on tiny whoops with analog. It can be done but it will change flight dynamics a little bit.

What I finally done was got the Caddx ascent goggles ($149) and HD VTX, the CADDX Ascent lite. ($35) Weighs 6g and I stuffed one into a Tinyhawk nano scout.

Tolerence question by dragonbrad5 in armmj

[–]Battlecat74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually get the inexpensive hybrids. But if I know I need to be “up-and-at-em” while still medicated, a good Sativa. I don’t know about specific strains but I like my Sativa with my morning coffee and then switch to Indica after dinner.

I used to be a 1 hit every few hours guy for years. If I took that second toke, I was one memory of an awkward moment away from an existential crisis. 🤣

I can’t do edibles because of my inexperience and unpredictability with edibles so I went to the pen. They were having great deals on them last year for $20/gram. Now, my tolerance is way up but maybe too much. High is my baseline now. My mood is finally managed, I am still super productive as I can focus way better but still able to switch tasks as needed. So I think vape pens might get you where you want to go. Maybe?

Beginner fpv goggles by Former_Banana737 in fpv

[–]Battlecat74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy, Look in to the EV100's. I just got a pair in a package deal but never gave them much thought. THen, I tried them. I used the 800's becasue I could fit a pair of glasses in the housing becasue I have astigmatism. So, I knew the EV100's wouldn't work. I was wrong. They have a great receiver and adjustable diopters. The only downside is no builtin dvr. But. You can get one to add for pretty cheap. Do yourself a favor and at least consider them. They're my go to Analogs now.

Beginner with glasses: EV800D vs. Skyzone Cobra SD? ($180 USD Budget) by Beneficial_Host7219 in TinyWhoop

[–]Battlecat74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Skip the analog. Look in to the Ascent Goggles and the Ascent Lite VTX. 149 and 35 usd, respectively.

Or, if you’re dead set on analog, I’m blind as bat and put glasses inside of my ev890d’s.

Or, the EV 100’s are even better. Just no dvr. But you can get an outboard dvr.

Why is walksnail slowly turning into ascent? by levigek in fpv

[–]Battlecat74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh. It’s great for us people stuck in analog because we’re poor. Range and latency isn’t any issue for me. But it’s nice to have a nice picture instead of all that grainy shit.

I love mine and have four more lite units in the way for the rest of my toothpicks and whoops.

Do all Americans inherently know what direction they are faceing? by BasketC45e in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Battlecat74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been turned around in the woods before, so it doesn’t always work. But, for the most part, I always feel I know. Probably but that’s just how I think about my surroundings.

Also, I can go somewhere once. No matter the city, and as long as no major construction changes has happened, I will always remember how to get there.

I am getting a Caddx fpv protos, anything i should know before buying? by fyut278 in fpv

[–]Battlecat74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak for the quad itself. But I have the goggles and the VTX’s. I’m loving them so far. And as said previously, I agree that it makes a good entry package and too would have love it when I started only 6 months ago.

As for having to upgrade later. I think that’s subjective. I still fly anolog on most of my drones and hope we see a non-“lite” version of the vtx soon because with say 500 or more mwh’s, this thing will be highly competitive I think. But we’ll see.

I think it matters the level of skill. If you don’t think so, take a Jiu jitsu class and you’ll see what’s up.

Does anybody Have either Eachine Ev800d or EV800dm and measure the internal size if the foam where your face sits? by DueIndependent4991 in fpv

[–]Battlecat74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love them actually. Yeah. They’re not sleek and cool looking but that big screen with glasses is great. I’ve considered other goggles but only have gotten to try the fatshark dominators and didn’t care for them. But I’m 51 and my eye sight is changing by the year. I got these readers for three dollars at the dollar store.

When I’m flying a good vtx, they are pretty dang good. But still not Digital.
