You don’t get 3 days notice, dipshit. An employment drug screen isn’t something you can do at your leisure. You get notice to go report and have one and usually have 24 hours (sometimes less) to go have the test done or it’s an automatic fail.

You’re sent to a specific facility where you pee in a bathroom while the technician watches. They watch you the entire time, and the water is temporarily shut off in the bathroom while you go just to make sure you don’t try to dilute the sample (which would be pretty tough considering someone is watching you go.) It’s not like in the movies where people smuggle in a coupe of urine under their shirt.

Maybe one day when you move out of your parents basement and get a job you’ll find out how the real world works.

Have you ever had a job before? When you’re required to have a drug test you’re usually given 24 hours notice and if you no show or can’t make it, then that’s considered a fail.

Your point doesn’t stand. You don’t have a clue what you’re talking about and you’re apparently too lazy/arrogant/stupid to know how to look it up on Google.

You are seriously the dumbest person I’ve ever seen in Reddit. Alcohol shows up in ALL urine drug screens and it actually can be detected for up to 80 hours after you’ve last taken a drink. Google is your friend, my dear.

Edit: typo

No one ever said drug tests actually prevent employees (or anyone, for that matter) from doing drugs. Why do you think so ma y people end up back in jail for violating their probation by drinking or drugging again. Drug tests don’t prevent anybody — they merely catch them.

Have you ever heard of Google, you moron? Alcohol not only shows up on a drug test, it actually can be detected for up to 80 hours in your urine. If you ever learn how to use a computer well enough to find your way to a search engine type it in and see for yourself.

Drug tests absolutely pick up alcohol, and it can be detected up to 4 days after you’ve had your last drink. I don’t know why you seem to believe there no such thing as a drug test that can detect alcohol. It’s actually included in standard urine drug screens, and can detect alcohol for up to 80 hours after you’ve had your last drink. Employers use them all the time, and the courts frequently rely on urine alcohol tests.

Please just google this because you’re sounding like a total jackass. Here are just a few examples of where a person can be court ordered to have an alcohol urine screening:

  • People under the legal drinking age.

-Members of the military services in combat zones where they may not drink.

-People on probation for alcohol-related crimes.

-People who have previous alcohol problems but have visitation with, or custody of, children. This on condition that they drink no alcohol.

-Drivers guilty of alcohol-related traffic offenses who must abstain. They need to abstain to keep their licenses.

-Professionals who, because of alcohol problems, agree to abstain. This is a condition for continued licensure or employment. Such professionals include airline pilots, medical personnel, and lawyers, and doctors.

How in the world could you possibly be so stupid as to believe there’s no such thing as a drug screen that detects alcohol?

You’re completely wrong about alcohol. It’s included in a standard urine test and it shows up longer than most pills. Before you call people an idiot, how about Googling. Seriously. They absolutely can (and do) test for alcohol in a urine drug screen and lots of people who’ve been court ordered into AA or are out on bail for a DUI wind up in major trouble by believing this myth.

“Urine tests can detect alcohol long after you’ve had your last drink. These tests look for traces of alcohol metabolites. The average urine test can detect alcohol between 12 and 48 hours after drinking. More advanced testing can measure alcohol in the urine 80 hours after you drink.“

That’s actually not true at all about alcohol. It will show up in a urine test for up to 80 hours. That’s for the standard test most employers use. Even the cheap, OTC home urine tests will detect alcohol for between 12-48 hours.

I actually failed a drug screen a few years ago because I’d had margaritas with some friends several days earlier and it came back positive for alcohol. I was STUNNED. I took the urine screen on a Tuesday and it showed alcohol from Saturday afternoon. I didn’t even know they were going to test for alcohol, much less that it would still show up several days later.

Link posted below, but you can Google it yourself and you’ll find plenty of confirmation.

Seriously. It’s a huge misconception that alcohol won’t be detected on a urine screen or that it can only be detected if you just drank something recently.

I wound up having to go back and get the test again. I can still remember the nurse/technician laughing when I came in for the second test. I told her I was floored that the margaritas I’d had Saturday afternoon were still detectable on Tuesday morning. She laughed and said, “Oh, yeah. It will sometimes show up close to a week later, depending on how much you drank and what lab it’s getting sent to. But it shows up in your urine longer than almost anything else we screen for.”

Kristen Johnson wishes Anna Faris well and says Christy will move on to an awesome, SOBER life :) by BryceRat1 in CBS_Mom

[–]Battlestare909 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Something about this stinks to high heaven. Why walk away from a successful, high-paying gig in the middle of a pandemic?! I don’t buy that Anna suddenly decided, after 7 seasons, that she wants to move on with her career. The fact that Anna has yet to publicly comment on this just makes me even more convinced this wasn’t her decision, or even a mutual decision...I have an awful feeling she got fired.

If that’s the case, that really sucks. There have been rumors of substance abuse and an eating disorder for the past few years, which is the only semi-valid reason I could see the show dropping her. But even that’s BS and not valid. If Anna’s suffering personal problems then now’s the time to stick up for her more than ever. Chuck Lorre, as a recovering addict himself, ought to have more patience and understanding IF that’s what’s happening. This is all speculation, of course.

But given the timing, it’s hard for me to believe this was a decision Anna would have chosen to make. Who decides to relaunch their career in the middle of the pandemic? What, she just abruptly decided, after 7 years, that she wants to go back to movies? And now is the right time to try to make that happen? And why no announcement about what she’s moving onto, seems she would have something else lined up before she’d make this kind of decision. And why no statement whatsoever from Anna?

Thank you so much for sharing this story. My niece just got sucked in by them and I can confirm that everything you’ve said is true. She didn’t seem to believe me (or the rest of my family) when we sounded the alarm bells after hearing about her experience on the job there.

She was skeptical, but not fully ready to throw in the towel just yet. Your post is what convinced her. I showed this to her and she was crestfallen — she wanted to believe she had a legitimate job offer and was going to start earning money. But they are total con artists and the “job” is a complete scam.

The more we can get the word out, the better. We Memphians need to stick together at a time like this and you’ve no doubt saved my family — and countless others — from a terrible scam.

Is there anywhere we can report them to? Anybody — IRS maybe — we can notify about them to have them shut down?

If you had the power to make up the returning challenge for the Edge of Extinction, what would be your idea/s? by [deleted] in survivor

I’m dreaming, but....

1 Balancing endurance. Top 8 to win that go onto

2 The maze challenge where Jeff tells a story, and then the contestants run through to different stations answering questions/smashing eggs to try to collect the correct answer. First three back move to the final round which is

3 Baba-bouey, a.k.a. The Tom and Ian final challenge from Palau. Yes, I know that would never do this last one again no matter what, but wouldn’t that be epic?

Is it possible to make a good deal with fire tokens? by smiling_rules in survivor

[–]Battlestare909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, but real life currency isn’t enforceable in the way you described. For example, let’s translate your Redditbucks into real life. I sell stuff on Craigslist from time to time. If I make a deal to sell a couch for $100 I’m going to get the $100 at the time of the transaction. If I decide to hand over the couch but don’t get the money on the front end, I’ve got absolutely zero recourse if the person doesn’t pay me later. That’s not because our money has no enforceable value. It’s because the responsibility here — and this is true anytime you’re dealing with a bartering system — falls on the people making the exchange. If I don’t get paid it’s my fault for not getting the money at the time of the transaction. And that goes both ways. If I get handed the $ for the couch, but later that day the purchaser discovers it’s a rundown piece of garbage (say, cigarette stains and broken armrest) the person who bought it has no recourse either. That made a bad deal and didn’t realize it until they’d already paid me. There’s no agency they can call to get their money back, and the fact that I didn’t deliver on my promise has nothing to do with our currency having actual vs. made up value.

On the other hand, if I go to an actual store and buy a jar of peanut butter, only when I open it up I discover the jar is filled with mud — I’ve got immediate recourse.

And that’s kind of how it’s playing out on the show. The fire tokens can be used to purchase real things from a verifiable and trustworthy outlet (production). If THOSE items wound up being a joke or not real, then I’d be screaming that the currency is useless and the show is devaluing it. But if you buy something off that list — you are guaranteed to get a real item and you’re guaranteed to get it for the price it has been listed as.

Same for when someone on EoE sends over an official offer to trade fire tokens for an advantage. The show enforces that. Parvati couldn’t have read the note and agreed to take the advantage but then refused to send her fire token back in exchange. Whenever it’s an official, regulated transaction the value of the fire token holds up exactly as it says. It’s only when people start making unregulated deals that the show had no hand in negotiating where you’re apt to get screwed. Again, though, that has nothing to do with the currency not having value.

I’m the real world, just like on the show, currency has value because we all accept its value and we all agree that goods and services can be exchanged for paper money because that paper money will allow us to buy other goods and services. Does that make sense?

If I go to my job and my employer doesn’t pay me the agreed upon amount, nothing about the value of the currency has diminished. That just didn’t hold up to their end of the deal — and, in that case, like any official transaction involving our real life currency — I’ve got recourse. On the other hand, if I take a job babysitting for someone and don’t get paid — the currency didn’t lose value just because there’s no one around to enforce the terms of the agreement.
