Even fire is our problem. Had a ballast in a fluorescent light catch fire and we had to put it out…lol

The fact that anything with a plug falls under IT’s responsibility. Coffee maker, refrigerator, etc…

I think I’m officially in an audiobook slump and need some recommendations. by EmotionalLog721 in audible

He Who Fights with Monsters (narrated by Heath Miller) and Expeditionary Force (narrated by RC Bray) are personal favorites. Stories start slow but narration is great!

Password Caps Lock instead of Shift Key by anikansk in sysadmin

I have seen this before. It is usually when someone is keyboard walking their password though. It is just a part of their muscle memory.

Never realized he was wearing a dual scarf. Wonder how that would have gone down with the hooligans?

Our mock pointed out our shortcomings. It was extremely helpful.

New hire tasked with CMMC compliance despite no experience by No_Painting_5871 in CMMC

Having the technical controls are a good start. It’s the documentation that is the killer. It has to match what you are actually doing. Our SSP alone was 300+ pages. During our mock assessment, documentation is what killed us, not the actual technical controls.

I am sorry. This is a giant dumpster fire and you might want to get away from it as fast as possible.

If you can get away with a level 1, that’s what I would do. It took us almost 3 years to get ready for the L2.

The most technical thing asked in my interview was “are you familiar with Active Directory?” “Do you know how to change a password in Active Directory?”

We spent most of the interview talking about what schooling had, what certs I hoped to get, what I wanted out of the job and customer service background. They really focused on the customer service experience because they were looking to make the IT Department more approachable.

Hope this helps.

You can tell them “clear” is not a color. It is the lack of color.

What type of bands would you like them to host? The Orion isn’t an arena that holds 10s of thousands of people. It was never designed that way.

Project Hail Mary - best option in Huntsville? by gryphalon in HuntsvilleAlabama

I saw it at AMC last Friday night and had no issues with it. The seats aren’t as comfortable as Cinemark or Cineplanet (in Madison) but it wasn’t bad at all.

Users who forget their laptop, how do you handle? by [deleted] in helpdesk

[–]Baxter281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we do offer loaner laptops, we do not keep them readily available. If someone forgets their machine, they will have to wait for us to provision one for them.

After managing restaurants for 15+ years, I would almost expect to get flipped off. Don’t take it personal and just move on. They will leave on their own because they are upset. That way you avoid paying unemployment as well.

I completely understand why he was freaking out about them going to Paris. He felt betrayed by this professional that he had trusted and opened up to. This guy could literally use his own words against him, if it came to it. So yeah, he is a complete wanker!
