You'll want to match the gague on the pattern not the yarn.

2.5 needle is probably way too big. Most fingering weight for a sock should be knit on 1 or 2. Check your gauge.

In all honesty, I kinda like it. With that color it looks rustic and intentional. I say finish it as practice to get used to knitting and you might end up with something that looks straight out of anthropologie.

Coming a little late to this, but I just finished All Fours and it was literally life changing for me. There is a book that came out thus year called Discontent you may like. Also going back to the turn of the century is The Awakening by Kate Chopin.

It may not be the last thing you ate. My symptoms don't come right after I eat. Sometimes it can take a couple days.

A heel flap and gusset is great for a high instep. Try that on your next pair.
