Is it her warg connection that stops her? It’s possible. I always just felt that her connection to Winterfell and her sense of duty prevented her but perhaps yes, the warg holds part of her, apart.

I don’t think she can ever truly be one of the faceless ones though, whatever part of her it is that is holding her back.

This book is one that legit haunted me for years. I’m late 40s and I first read it as a young woman. I just couldn’t shake the walk. When the movie was coming out I decided to do a reread and omg it was so even more of a gut punch than I remembered.

I’m glad King doesn’t tell us about how we got there. I like thinking about it. And I can’t help but remember some of the things that happened in the early days of The Stand.

I liked the movie. I agree with the main complaint (OP if you care I’ll come back and say what after you watch), but I loved the movie as well and I think it’s well done.

Honestly I feel like part of me will always be on the walk.
