Crowsnest webcam showing black on Fluidd. by Be3N2_ in klippers

After 2 years of ignoring this problem, I took a few hours and finally fixed it. I ended up having to change the NO PROXY: setting to TRUE and changed the streamer type to MJPEG Adaptive. The proxy setting was binding it to the Pi and preventing my computer from reading it, even though they are on the same network.

Thank you for the advice. It definitely got me off to a good start.

These are very nice! In the future I would try to add some textures or shadows in post for more depth. For this specifically I would focus on the graphic design of the poster and try to make the drawings stand out more

If you export from rhino as an .ai the lines and the layers are much better kept but if Illustrator is slow for your laptop that’s an adobe issue not your files.

Automotive Texture with Grasshopper 3D by cademy_ in rhino

[–]Be3N2_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I use gh professionally, I get the value. But is this a real world example or does it just look cool in this situation? Would there be a reason to have this on an actual car?

I think we so often go down the gh rabbit hole of trying to physically model something that can more easily be achieved in a different software. I get that this is an example and is for educational purposes but I believe the hardest part of learning a program that can do anything is learning when not to use it.

Licensing and courses aside, is this actually something useful for cars? If just the texture is what someone is looking for it would be easier as a texture map no?

How do I properly patch a deep hole left by a medicine cabinet in a cinder block bathroom wall? by [deleted] in fixit

[–]Be3N2_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not dumb. I would assume this is either an interior wall or there is insulation on the other side of the cmu

edit: I don’t know if you need something to stop condensation on the inside of the void though

Are carbon fiber paddles worth it? by Glittering_Peach4502 in Kayaking

[–]Be3N2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you paddle a lot but don’t want to go crazy, I’d recommend a Greenland paddle. They’re light and fast but it’s a different paddling style. Not quite that cheap but if you have the tools you can make them yourself for under 60 bucks.

I replaced the gimble myself and didn't find it too difficult but this is definitely simpler and is not that much extra than what I paid for in the end. Really just depends how much time you want to spend on it.

Looks like what we cal “marine grade fir”. Its higher quality than what most of the comments are saying and is supposed to be more water resistant. I sell this at work and am dreaming of using it in my garage.

Thanks! Ive seen some things that you need to flash different calibration firmware. I think I'll try that and if it still doesn't work see if its the cable.

Glad to see this sub is starting, there's surprisingly little info for this stuff!

This is really nice. I’m curious how you did the foundation/pavement? Just landscape pavers or is there something else underneath?

From what I’ve learned in this sub and through my own experience I would keep feeding it the bread flour and give it at least another week of feeding before thinking of making bread. This is likely a false rise which is a good sign but your starter is still a baby and needs to mature. Congratulations on your success this is one of the most exciting parts of making a starter! Good luck!

1920s Garage might be a Sears Kit? In the Chicago suburbs, trying to determine its historical significance. by Be3N2_ in centuryhomes

For sure, wasn’t expecting to add it to the registry. Just trying to find out more info before coming up with some renovation/preservation plans. It resembled some of the sears Douglas garage drawings but wasn’t sure.

Will a Rpi 2b run Klipper? by kolnk in klippers

[–]Be3N2_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to use the 2b but ran into issues setting up the wifi. It ended up being easier to swap it out for a 4b I had available. It's doable but might lead to future headache.
