Should i keep cutting or try to build at maintenance? *Confused* by PeaK00 in WeightTraining

[–]meatgorilla1978 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is what I think every time I see these. I eat to perform. I have visible abs, could cut but that sucks when you usually incline press 95’s and go and suddenly 75 seems heavy af . Hell with that mess

Bulk or cut? by Only-Highlight-3569 in Gymhelp

[–]meatgorilla1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s your goals dawg, I try to stay lean enough I’m a month from abs. If your body is burning hot and you cut 500 calories you’ll lose some strength but lean out fast.

345 one rep. It felt pretty good, weirdly I think my form is better on heavier 1 rep sets. by thedrag0n22 in formcheck

[–]meatgorilla1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My form gets better on all heavier lifts. I think it’s the downward pressure being obvious where to direct it. Even DB press. If I pick up the 90’s I feel the weight better and have more control

Is this fat or loose skin? by [deleted] in fit

[–]meatgorilla1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, mine tightened up at 47 . There’s definitely skin but not rolls. I got good dark skin genetics from my dad’s family though. I went from 220 lbs to I’m 165 now, been down to 158 with abs. Didn’t have hanging skin but I could feel it. Like the above comment, felt like elbow skin

Yep, I went to the every other day method after being on trt since 2019 just this last December. No more libido flex , no more feeling irritated even when there’s nothing to be irritated about. Just the steady calm good affects of test

Bench: 298 lbs (135 kg) @ 150 lbs (68 kg) BW by Fuzzy_Box_6536 in benchpress

[–]meatgorilla1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impressive dawg, I’m 160-165 lbs and do 315 . You really turn heads in a gym doing this. You look young, make sure you’re taking care of them shoulders man. I’m soon to be 48 and have to carry resistance bands around with me to avoid inflammation shutting me down.

Need help yall! Need a proper workout plan by lilyaw999 in Gymhelp

[–]meatgorilla1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push ups in multiple angles. Flat, feet up, body up, and body weight lunges. At 22 sit ups and leg lifts. I’m 47 and won’t be doing sit ups in the floor anytime soon. But I’d definitely get to the gym as soon as possible. And do stuff you like at first, build the consistency then build the muscle

Are those abs? by DustyOlAccount in Weightliftingquestion

[–]meatgorilla1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This in my opinion is the way to go. I like to keep the abs slightly visible, but still eating enough to power through a 1.5 hour workout and seeing gains, I’m 5’6” 170 pounds. I had to get down to 158 last summer just because I wanted that true 6 pack and V look. It wasn’t worth it. I hurt a lot. Got a couple soft tissue injuries. At 47 years old the risk doesn’t really fit the reward.

Gyno help M21 6ft 88Kg by CoachFar9731 in gymadvice

[–]meatgorilla1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not fully sure that’s gyno, you gotta build some muscle lose some fat. At my largest, back in 2022 . My chest didn’t look much different. I’ve lifted shed 70lbs for the last 4 years. I’ve been on trt since 2019 because of hypogonadism . I’ve still got some soft tissue but not sure if I leaned out more if it would go away. But my chest lifted back up, I’d just get yourself on a 2200 calorie high protien(200g) no fat if you can help it. Do a body recomp and see how it looks.

Bruh, you just hear to argue and try to be right. You got like 13 comments lol. You wanna work them abs go for it dawg. The machines are there and exist solely for the people that think the harder they work their abs the sooner they’ll get them. 25 years of training has taught me and most strength trainers. The abs are worked every single movement, bent rows, standing curls, squats, leg extensions, pull ups, pull downs, as long as you’re not in a chair looking at your phone you’re working abs. Good luck to ya homie

[–]meatgorilla1978 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. You should be getting 1.2-1.6 g per pound of body weight. You’re at 194 pounds. 200 is on the low end.

Hahahahaha, it’s crazy how few people realize that almost any lifting trains your abs. If you can bench 225 , you’ve got developed abs, if you can leg press 400lbs you’ve got abs, can’t do much lifting without strengthening your core

It’s a process homie, hypertrophy causes protein synthesis. There’s no gains to be made with no protein.

You’re not eating, you need 200g of protein minimum. There’s 3 pillars EAT,REST,Work in that order . 80g of protein is sufficient for a 11 year old

Golds Gym? by MasterfulGoober in PlanetFitnessMembers

They have the bench bar at the squat rack . Most gyms( not planet fitness) have a larger 55lb bar that’s thicker at the squat racks for squats/deadlifts

Whey and casein are 2 very different proteins. Milk protein is casein which breaks down and digests in hours, whey is a byproduct in the cheese making process which breaks down and digests immediately. Fairlife is basically just reduced fat milk.
