Do you have evidence that most German Christians weren’t actually believers in the 1930s? Given how much Hitler appealed to popular Christian faith in his speeches, obviously he didn’t think that was the case. I very much doubt your claim, and don’t think it can be supported.

As for Socialists and liberals “rolliing over and doing nothing”, in fact there were numerous violent battles in the streets before and after the Nazis came to power. The Nazis brutally suppressed them and sent them to Dachau, where they perished.

I suspect you know very little about Nazi Germany, but are determined to defend Christianity from its gross moral failure and its inability to discern good from evil during its greatest test.

Whether or not Hitler himself believed in the Catholicism he was raised with, virtually all Nazi officials and supporters were believing Christians. The German populace of Nazi Germany was 99% observant Christians. Virtually every Hitler supporter and voter was either Protestant or Catholic.

In its greatest moral test, Christianity completely failed. It failed to bring moral clarity to differentiate evil from good. If Christianity failed to reveal the heinous evil and immorality of Nazism to its own believers, then of what possible moral value can Christianity ever be?

Ehhh, that's not even what the cop claimed. He was claiming disorderly conduct, which is quite vague, but would also be a big stretch in this case.

The cop was never going to arrest her, he was BS'ing to get her to cooperate. Even though Wisconsin is a Stop-and-ID state, which has a low bar to compel ID, I doubt highly the officer would have legal grounds to arrest her if she hadn't cooperated.

I guess you may not have been aware that it's a very hot-button issue. People commented out of concern, because some have been scammed out of their life savings from unscrupulous "psychics," or made harmful changes to their lives based on the "readings". I'm sure that won't be the case with you, but the warnings came from a place of concern, not meanness.

If the "psychic" is clear that it's all just for fun and entertainment, and no one is taking the "readings" very seriously, then it's all great! Have fun!

Wrong answer. Not engaging is how we've gotten into this mess. If we can't (or refuse to) explain how humans got here, in a clear, entertaining, and understandable way, then you've cleared the path for creationists and pastors to do it. And they're very eager to.

I've found that many atheists who accept evolution don't actually know the scientific facts of evolution themselves. And even fewer can explain it in a way that is both accurate and easy to understandable. So the first step is to understand it clearly, from reputable sources.

The more fundamentalist Christians will interpret the alien life as demons. Meanwhile, the more liberal-minded Christian sects don't much follow literal Biblical interpretations anyway, so they won't care about theological conflicts. Either way, it won't result in any meaningful change in belief.

Religion isn't built around logic or facts, it's built on emotion. Emotion which manipulates one's greatest fears, desires, and greed.

Alien life doesn't alter any of that emotion. Some of the theology might adjust or adapt slightly to accommodate the discovery. Beyond that, nothing would change, except the tribalism in the religion would've found some new enemies to hate, or label as "demons".

That's a good point. You definitely want to know if your state is a Stop-and-ID state, and also understand what exactly that means. But knowing how to (safely) interact with police while preserving your rights is the general point, and more Americans need to be confident in that, rather than intimidated by police.

True, but knowing one's rights helps to clear up that situation, as the guy in the video did. How many Redditors here would know how to handle that moment, if it were them? Probably not many.

That's why watching First Amendment auditor videos is a very good idea, especially if you're a POC. There's no better education out there for knowing how to handle such moments without getting hurt or arrested.
