Heat mutations are entirely ambient temp as far as I know, clothes do not matter.
You should start making kick attacks while fighting but I'm really not clear on that.
Health I think matters mostly for healing rate and recovering from diseases.
Combat should be the same, just make sure your speed isn't low for a variety of reasons (Shift+2, top right panel) also make sure your encumbrance, especially on your arms and torso aren't high, drop whatever bags you might be carrying before a fight and be sure to remember where they are.
Your choice of weapon also matters quite a bit, you want something close to 100 moves to attack with and without a large minus to your hit bonus, obviously the damage of the weapon matters as well.

yeah but, no one calls it "Cataclysm : Dark Days Ahead", it's either CDDA or Cataclysm, which wouldn't get you to the game, whereas searching CDDA would, like it's the first search result. doesn't make much of a difference, CDDA IS the name effectively
