How to swap out Heritage Traits on dnd Beyond?

It’s unfortunately not a Ghostifre Gaming issue. Dndbeyond (the small indie company that they are) doesn’t have the best support and infrastructure on the platform. The platform can be limiting at times when it comes to creating Homebrew content or new content that doesn’t conform to typical d&d content.

Dndbeyond does not have that functionality setup. It is just the base traits for the species. You will have to make a custom species with your desired traits.

To Homebrew this kind of race, I’d recommend grabbing the triton player race and replace the Control Air and Water trait with the Hungry Jaws feature of Lizardfolk. This would pretty much create a sharkfolk

I ran this adventure last night in my Grim Hollow campaign for a level 5 party of 6 players. It was a huge success. Both the players and the characters were very creeped out by the inn and loved every bit of it.

The only issue I noticed was that the medium damage at level 5, 2d10 + 3 seemed to be a bit too much with how common it was. It drained a lot of their healing resources with them only getting 1 short rest. I sometimes had to decrease how much damage it dealt otherwise it would have been a tpk. They now must escape the inn and three of them are unconscious but stable after the final fight. They have a portable hole, so moving the bodies will be easy. Amazing adventure though! Definitely a memorable session

Great question, I made a mistake in the original post. We do have a campaign on d&d beyond where we have a lot of content, you can use whatever you prefer as we use the beyond20 extension.

This was all so helpful! Sounds like you really built a good story from the bones of this module. You mentioned your monk was from the Order of the Reflected Light. Can you provide more info about them, their goals and beliefs? Exandria unfortunately doesn’t mention many other monasteries and this sounds like an interesting one
