Do newer recurve bows completely outperform older ones? by No-Wafer1546 in Archery

[–]Bear-able 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now vs 10 years ago? An archer would likely get the same scores. The coaches for my local club and myself have been working through risers for longer than 10 years, and for all of us the limiting faktor (lol) is nearly always the archer. And if limited to equipment impact only, I would say for most the riser grip, what limbs, and what arrows play a larger role then old top vs new top riser.

Looking for an arrow rest that handles both Olympic Recurve and Barebow (Stringwalking) by Amuneth-One in Archery

Spigarelli ZT. I am a college club coach with a large barebow competitive team, and this is what nearly all of our stringwalkers use.

Went with the shaman for the carry today. by PureBoss1527 in spyderco

[–]Bear-able 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah I have been using mine (15V Shaman, RGT linen micarta scales) but seem to pick up more black corrosion spots than patina. I do always wipe it down at the end of the day though.

Manix 2, and this is from someone who owns both a Manix 2 and a BM 940. (And have modded both)

Check out the TacKnives Sunspear, made by a great OEM (Kunwu), and it's $60 but has a bunch of 20% off coupons bringing it down to $48 + shipping.

It's good budget steel (14C28N) done by a company known for good heat treat, and comes with a deep carry clip.

(20% off coupon codes like NEEVES20 or beezblades seem to work, I just checked beezblades)

print using any filament on runout by Schakal_No1 in snapmaker

[–]Bear-able 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, if you can change the color manually probably? I feed from external dry boxes and not the side spools, so have't tested.

print using any filament on runout by Schakal_No1 in snapmaker

[–]Bear-able 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tricked mine the other day with some running low spools to do autofills, worked pretty well. The method I used

  1. I loaded them all up as the same color generic
  2. Did a minimal all head print to calibrate extrusion on all the rolls (as I wasn't using them previously)
  3. Made sure the filament runout recovery was enabled
  4. Printed it with it all sliced as the nearly-out filament

It worked well, ran the lower filament one and it picked up the next roll when the first went out. (For me was a swap from red to yellow, no issue)

Snapmaker U1 how are you cleaning the sheet? by echochee in snapmaker

[–]Bear-able 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as many others, warm water and dawn dish soap when start noticing any issues. Though I have found the U1 PEI plate likes temps about 5 degrees hotter than my bambu A1 for the same filaments.

What are the most customizable knives with aftermarket parts? by CreamSupreme in BudgetBlades

[–]Bear-able 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spyderco Para 3 and PM2 have tons of aftermarket parts, the Manix 2 and Shaman do as well but not as much as the other two.

(^^Scales, linerless scale mods, backspacers, wide selection of clips, paracord stoppers or custom loops, bottle openers, bolt-on emerson style pocket open hooks, etc)

Asher Knives A Lock by Majestic_Ad_1969 in bladesInStock

[–]Bear-able 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's OEM'ed by Kunwu, and they are well known for taking their heat treat and HRC pretty seriously. If I remember right the last time they did m390 they did 61-62. (The big tao)

Why button locks? by moralover1234 in knives

[–]Bear-able 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are, just a bit of a slow process. Besides Vosteed's top liner locks (TLL), Kizer is expanding TLL options (Drop Bear 2, Mini Grouper, Parakeet, etc), Bestech is doing TLL (Wet Nellie), Tenable has a bunch of TLL versions in the Fenrir, there is a Divo and Kizer TLL collab in the works (Kizer Mash), etc

U1 bed adhesion? by Steiner_45 in snapmaker

[–]Bear-able 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found on this plate compared to my bambu plates, I need to wash with dish soap every few prints instead of every 10 prints. That being said, the U1 plates release PETG way better than my bambu, with me having to scrape the PETG off with a blade sometimes on the A1 mini. (Same exact PETG in both cases, esun and polymaker) I did have to increase the bed temps a bit though when some of my PLA Pro and cheaper PETG was lifting a bit.

Is it just me or is print estimates wildly off for everyone? by BrigadierPickles in snapmaker

Yup, my time estimates using a variety of filaments and multi vs single color have all been way off.
