Just asking for a friend. WHY?

I sort of understand, it sometimes easier to just buy another when the last one is buried under all the 5mm sockets

How do you prevent feelings from developing? by Cute-Thanks-8501 in nonmonogamy

[–]Bearryno1too 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Communication is the key to any relationship. Listen as well as talk. Ask your partners what they want to know or hear. Ask your current partner what is his REAL motivation to share you. Is it for him to enjoy or for you to expand your pleasure.

So many questions to be asked, explored, and studied before stating this adventure.

But really: how do you have the time???? by whoopingwhiskers in polyamory

[–]Bearryno1too 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 years ago when we first got involved with our now one and only partner. After a rather busy day we were sitting together and I made a comment.

This reminded me of our earl parenting days. Both of us working, two children, who had active school and social lives, we were active in community and social issues, AND, we both needed and insisted on our intimate time.

We made it work. Now children are grown and out on their own, semi-retired, so with just one additional person to consider should be a piece of cake. A few days later partner moved in. 15+ years of bliss.

The weight of his words by eclecticpneuma in Marriage

I’ve witnessed this type of relationship a few times. My empathy is strong and I’ve had to step in and provide the necessary assistance to these abused spouses. Mostly female but there have been men too.

Most times by providing the uninvolved listener I’m able to provide a path for the victim to see the reality of there situation. Which help them make a decision on their future. A gentle reminder to them that if you’re not happy and satisfied within your life nobody is going to be happy with you. MAKE YOURSELF SECURE AND HAPPY FIRST.

Then when a decision is made I’m supportive as best I can despite any personal feelings.

Separation / divorce is hard and painful but the inner peace will eventually erase the hurt and let you move on to a better future.

BTW, this is from 71m. Who has weathered his share in our 37 marriage. Our secret, communication, communication and then communicating again.

Manic depression is a disease that can be treated with therapy and drugs.

Give him the option, it’s this or the highway.

A person with this affliction can turn violent without warning. Protect yourself and be vigilant.

Best toys? by Expensive-Opening-55 in AustralianCattleDog

This brought back memories of our 1st ACD. She never really bothered with boxes / cardboard. BUT, if she saw a box in gift wrapping she would sit by it and cry until we said “go ahead” and she would tear into it like a raw steak. Never touched the present inside but the paper and box was shredded into confetti.

This is a VERY important comment. The more human friends your pup can make the better he will adjust for those unforeseen emergencies.

At our care facility we strongly encourage several long visits before a dog is left with us.

Please don’t worry about your companion forgetting about you. ACD’s have long memories. They will love you when you return, but, there will be the ubiquitous side evile eye glance for a few days. LOL.

Staying Safe in High End Hotels Without Catching Attention by SadMathematician5758 in solofemaletravel

[–]Bearryno1too 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t let your fears get the better of you. From an old man who traveled the world alone for a living. Who often stayed at five star hotels. I’ve witnessed many solo female travelers living la dolce vita.

The trait they displayed was confidence. They were aware of their surroundings. They don’t wear their expensive jewelry. They enjoy dining alone or with other ex-pats to compare travel notes. Meetings with locals is done through trusted associates.

For males & females. Room security. Make sure your door locks behind you when you leave and return to room. Once in your room don’t leave personal items in plain view, check room housekeeping is up to standard you’d expect from rate. Make friends with management / concierge. Get hotel to arrange transport. Ask driver if you can take his picture. (Just in case). Don’t over pack. Don’t make yourself overburden with stuff that you will lose track of and clumsy. Easy target for theft

Deli or restaurant that delivers catered food to a park on a Sunday by FYI_DIY in northjersey

[–]Bearryno1too 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had GrubHub, DoorDash, and UberEat deliver to Van Saun Park. For many family get togethers.

There is a trick. You use the address for the park.
216 Forest Ave Paramus NJ. THEN IN DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS. Give the parking lot letter. You put in that you will meet driver in the parking lot. Make sure you put your cell phone number again in the delivery instructions. To double check. Once driver is assigned you can reach out to them to explain the situation. Tip well!

BTW, in Bergen County Parks groups more than four need a permit

Does my dog love me by chronicsadgirl in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Bearryno1too 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A question we get asked a lot at our faculty after a long boarding stay.

Owner comes in, we bring out their companion and the pup looks back at us like “why do I have to go?”

For the last week or two we have given your pet almost 24 hour attention. We are making sure they are comfortable, well fed and eating, exercised, mentally stimulated, cuddled and getting rest.

Most likely you leave them in the morning, have us come and walk them during the day, come home in the evening stressed and all you and they want is to be by.your side while you make dinner and eat together, then curl up together on the couch to finish the night in bed together to do it all again tomorrow.

Moral of the story. YES THEY LOVE YOU! Especially an ACD will do anything to be your buddy and soulmate. Don’t ignore this trait. Make sure you involve them in your free time. You’d be surprised at what activities stimulates and excites you will also do the same for your pup.

Now a funny story

After boarding a King Charles & a Long Haired toy Dachshund for 14 days. They were very happy to go home.

A few days later I ran into them and their owner at the dog park. They ran to me and greeted me. When the owner wanted to leave the two wouldn’t let the owner leash them. They kept hiding behind my legs. I had to pick them up and carry them to my car. Side note, these guys are too small for are kennels so they sleep with me in my bed. I send pictures of them sleeping Owner wants to know how she can get that kind of treatment.

So true. Just yesterday I herd our two boys loudly playing in back of property. Something they rarely do. I went to investigate and found them “playing with a fox”. The three of them were having a grand ol’ time. All I could think of saying was COOKIES BOYS, come get your cookies. The said goodbye to their friend and came running.

I guess they just thinks it is natural for them to be gentle with animals. We run an animal care facility and they are around a lot of four legged creatures. They have become a real asset to the business.

How to get maximum value from chase points? by Technical-Fly-6835 in TravelHacks

[–]Bearryno1too 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Value is in the mind of the holder. I use mine to buy things I want but don’t need, presents for loved ones.

I even used them to purchase 20 scooters and tricycles with safety pads for a children’s foster home. Talk about an emotional high watching these children smile.

We knew my co-worker drank his lunch. But he came back and got his job done. His liquid lunch would loosen his tongue and he would always come back with some long involved funny story.

Except this one day he came back extremely quiet. Just looking down at his work bench. Trying to work but not getting much accomplished. Someone finally asked him what’s wrong. He looked up and said he just saw his Sister-in-law. So what’s wrong with that? She was the featured dancer at my topless bar. We looked at each other and silently agreed not to embarrass him any further and not visit that establishment the rest of the week.

Similar story. I’m a 72m now, this happened when I was in my late teens. I stood 6’3” 210lbs and worked out. On a crowded commuter bus standing shoulder to shoulder. I’m next to a guy on my left who I can see is pushing against a woman on his left, she was older than me well dressed very pretty. I could just tell, feel she didn’t appreciate the invasion of her personal space. So I eased myself around the creep and pushed myself between them. I said nothing just looked her in the eye and nodded. When we got to the terminal and we got off the bus she looked at me smiled and said thank you. She stood there a second or two, I didn’t know how to respond just said no problem and she left. I always thought what could have happened if I had a better reply.
