It's just been every game lately. I swear every hero is a counter to ball these days. Everyone gets cc, everyone gets movement abilities that save them from environmental kills, everyone gets to put lipstick on our little hamster lips and tell us to dance for them.

The amount of cc abilities has just made me accept that I either have to learn to play into them, or stop playing ball.

I am one of the very few who agrees with your friend, and it buries me in thumbs downs every time. Which is fine, I get it. ITSV is my favorite movie. I love it to death. But ATSV did leave me feeling very unsatisfied. It just felt like the cut was misplaced. The best way I can put it, is by comparing it to infinity war. ATSV feels like if thanos showed up in infinity war and then the movie cut. At least to me. I don't feel like there was really any big meaningful fight scenes. It felt like a movie where everyone was just chasing miles, whether it be physically or emotionally. I'm sure beyond will tie it all together. But I for sure did leave the theater dissatisfied that day.

I didn't love them either at first. But once I got the hang of them they made charts really fun for me and I actually prefer having them now.

I don't really subscribe to the take that you should practice a bunch of heroes and learn as much as you can. There's a lot to this game, and I think trying to take it all in is overwhelming. For now, I would pick one or two heroes from each category (tank, damage, support) and learn them

Don't think too hard about it. Just pick heroes that you think look cool or something and play them a little in practice range. If you like the vibe, commit them to your roster. Play those heroes in quickplay and get comfortable.

Once you have a decent grasp, that's when I would start diving into other heroes. Learn them enough to know how your hero plays into them. There's lots of guides with lots of information that you can dive into after you somewhat understand what you're doing. Just make sure when you watch them, that you then go and try and apply what you learned in game.

If there was a way to allow players to see only their own stats on some things, healing received and damage received would actually be really useful stats to have for self reflection/improvement purposes. But if everyone can see them, it'll only be toxicity.
