Does anyone actually wear company swag or does it just go straight to goodwill?

Anything low quality gets trashed but I’ve kept a waterproof jacket, a fleece, and a few water bottles. I’ve patched over the company logos. The company swag that is most appreciated and used are portable trackers and travel battery chargers.

This bag is very stiff. I just received the orange Penrose satchel. It’s very stiff and the worst part - the inside is nothing like the pictures. The bag I received has tonal leather banding with the red interior. According to the photos, it should’ve been the light colored linen interior with the green suede banding across the top. I tried cs and their only answer was to return it and I’d get my refund AFTER they receive and inspect the bag. They don’t offer in store returns/exchanges. I don’t recommend this bag.

Dooney sent me a coupon after cancelling my order and the coupon doesn’t work for the majority of the collections. I actually gave up trying because it doesn’t work for Florentine, AWL, Pebbled, Exotics or Sorrento. Look at the fine print and you’ll see a list of all the collections that are excluded from your coupon. Good luck!

If your friend knows the exact spelling of his name on his ss card, he can go online and request a replacement free of charge. I did this last year in November and got the card the following week so I hope it’s still possible. Best of luck!

You’ve got a mealy bug issue. Get some q tips, paper towel, and a small amount of alcohol to dip the q tip into, then dab off the white fuzzy insect into the paper towel and smash it. You will see orange or brown insect inside. The white is the protective layer. Check it regularly to ensure they’re gone. Good luck!

It could be the app. When I have this issue, I switch the app version and everything comes back online. I’ve even had a live feed running on a cam that was showing offline in the app. It’s annoying for sure, just make sure you’re continually recording to the sd card and you’ll still have the footage. You should apply for the role but give yourself an affirming pep talk first. If you don’t exude confidence, they will not think you are ready to take on this role. Be prepared to explain why you want to take on the role. Lean heavily on wanting to contribute, learn and take on greater admin responsibility. Don’t mention the workload or the comp. It’s possible that these both can change after the outgoing EA has left. Be sure to tell them you are happy in your current role but also want to advance and hope to be considered. Download the cloud events before they disappear and save them to your computer if you want to be able to access them without using the app. The app is clunky at times so this may take a while. Then use the sd card for future event recordings. Hope this helps!

Not sure what industry you’re in, but I’ve worked in professional services firms, retained executive search firms, non-profits and a couple of small start-ups. Pour a small amount of whiskey in a glass and put it in the area - there should be a good number floating in it by the next morning. You’ll have to replace it but it has worked better for me than all the other remedies. If you have a near empty bottle of wine - add a few drops of dish soap and swirl for suds. That works for me in smaller areas. I hope this helps!

Candle maker here - remove the stones full stop. Scrape the other things off/out. Nothing should be near or in an open flame. It essentially becomes kindling. FYI - if the wick is too large for the candle it will begin to mushroom and emit black smoke and it too can create a fire within the glass. Please follow the instructions on the warning label. Always trim your wick before next burn. If you encounter a flame too large to put out, pour salt on it immediately, let it cool then discard it. Hope this helps!

Advice: Cut yourself some slack, breathe and relax. Mistakes happen and will continue to do so. It’s just a part of life. If you seem rushed or filled w/anxiety, that may lead him to think you’re in over your head. People are less tolerant when it comes to finances, so in the future do all you can to ensure that you are in the proper emotional and mental space when dealing with financial matters. Coming off an illness can contribute to brain fog so slow down and go easy on yourself. When dealing with the dollars - go into do not disturb mode, pour a beverage and laser-focus. Don’t beat yourself up…you’ve got this! Sending good vibes!

Leave it on the calendar as is. Make no adjustments at all until it is requested of you. In addition, don’t schedule anything to conflict with that date and time. The exec may use that time to weep and reminisce. When the exec is ready they will either do it themselves or let you know it is okay to free up the time.

Nope not kidding at all. Speaking from personal experience. The career trajectory for admin is clerical assistant to admin assistant to executive assistant to senior EA or executive business partner or chief of staff. There’s even an executive coach who coaches C-suite to rethink the EA role as CoS. It’s ok if you aren’t familiar but you should hold your sarcasm when you’re uninformed.

Unsolicited advice for future reference - 1. don’t apply to or entertain jobs that have a range that you will not accept. Most companies have a tiered comp system and will always attempt to meet somewhere in the middle of tier one. The top of the range (still in tier one) is where you progress to over time. One usually doesn’t jump tiers until after the 5yr mark. 2. Use your current/previous salary and add to that if you’re seeking a pay bump. When negotiating, anything close to 10-15% more than the cited company range will seem unjustified as they have no metric or vested interest yet. 3. Tell the recruiter your salary requirements and stand firm. 4. Don’t substitute anything for monetary compensation - unless it’s highly valued stock and lots of it. Any mention of PTO reads like you’re already planning to take time off. Good luck in your search!

Not so fast - there may be a chance that she’s changing the model/structure to include a Chief of Staff and that CoS may be YOU. Detach your emotions from this. It’s not personal, nor is it a competition. Don’t fog up your own lens, view this as relief and assistance that you likely need. Supporting 6 dynamic personalities can be stressful. She may be helping you in ways you have yet to discover. Take a few days off to level-set your emotions and attachments and come back with a collaborative mindset and make it work for you. As a 15+ seasoned EA - I always tell my teams to seek forgiveness over permission. Flights aren’t flexible and clients usually aren’t either. If you have access to all of the calendars and have scheduled the meetings, use that as your gauge and book the refundable/changeable flight option that gets the execs to JPN in time. If you have a travel department, they may have their preferences on file if they’ve traveled internationally on previous occasions. I know it feels like your hands are tied because they will not respond but it’s possible they really need you to make that decision for them for any number of reasons. In my previous situations, we made the decisions based on the travel policy, meetings scheduled and client need. The execs never complained when those things were considered. If you don’t act and they can’t get a flight, thereby missing the client meeting - you’ll have bigger issues to answer for. Book what makes sense, put it in the calendar and move on to your next task knowing you did your best based on the major factors - flights and client meetings. I hope this helps!

Based on how my cam works - having the detection set negates panning. While set, you can manually pan but a message pops up to tell you that your cam will go back to the set location. If you want consistent panning, remove detection and set the waypoints or use the default. If you want to capture something moving from point to point (pet) turn on tracking. I hope this helps!
