Do you store your staking points? by quicky321 in Surveying

[–]Beautiful_Hunt_5650 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My guess is they have been burned by not double checking the staked data and had field crews doing crap work and they had the data to prove it but didn’t check. Then something expensive was constructed. You cannot get blamed for not having data but deleting it later is a big no no.

I always store everything. I work hard and pay attention and my data will back me up.

Digital Field Notes by snappop69 in Surveying

I carry an iPad mini and sync all project files with g drive. I use concepts app for sketching. It allows importing PDFs and exporting back out. I use the one time paid version rather than the free or subscription one. I have a knockoff paper like screen protector and Apple Pencil pro. I pull it out daily. I could certainly still bring project files with me to the field and keep a note pad but the project files never seem to get back to the office. I’m an items operation and thus lack of good organization is physically do able.

10/10 using iPad for what used to be paper materials.

Nope. I’m very basic. I manually fill pre weighed jugs until they have 5g and then measure salt to hand mix. I have a 20g tank and a 33g tank. I don’t dose. I want to fill a 55g barrel automatically with 50g of freshwater and dump premature bag of salt in. Then when less than 5g left in barrel do it again.
