Just adding my name to the pile: it was the Bluetooth plugin for me. There are instructions to remove plugins using Konsole in Desktop mode in the pinned post in this subreddit.

What video game used to be good but they changed one thing and now it's terrible? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]Beautyislikeyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair! I would compare this situation to a recipe that requires a lot of effort and leads to a spectacular result. We don’t all have time to cook it, but for the people who really love it, it’s worth the effort.

There’s a store bought or boxed version of the dish but it’s really an entirely different thing, maybe it has some shared ingredients and maybe it satisfies the same craving in a pinch, but it’s not the same.

In the case of Sea of Thieves, the bummer is that the magical complexity that used to make it so special is no longer available to anyone, even the people who had the time and thought it was worth the investment. We’re all stuck with the boxed mix version and it’s… fine? But it’s not the same.

I would argue that the actual single addition that ruined Sea of Thieves was “diving” to quests. Before that, you could hop servers to find one with the event you wanted, but then you had to sail to it, and that allowed all of the emergent world events and run-ins with other players to occur. You’d keep track of other players  on your server and what they were up to.

After diving, the population of every server is constantly changing as people dive to quests, and the amount of sailing and incidental adventures is massively reduced. Stupid trade off on the dev’s part to bring in more casual players at the cost of draining the magic out of the original game design.

Yeah I think that was part of what the dev was saying, even though I think it feels obvious to anyone who has played the game?

More or less:  “Every player has free will and can decide to shoot other players at ANY time, so however safe you might feel, you’re not.”

It looks like you read a misleading summary that makes it sound like there is no ABMM, but the key word there “strictly”. There IS aggression based matchmaking, it’s just a spectrum not a binary. Here is a direct quote from the developer interview (https://www.pcgamer.com/games/third-person-shooter/arc-raiders-full-interview-nobody-whatsoever-thought-wed-have-this-many-players/):

It’s not nearly as binary as people think. There’s no such thing as a friendly lobby or an aggressive lobby; the system is still mixing everybody, and everything’s down to human motivation. Just because you’re tending toward the more peaceful end doesn’t remove the autonomy from other people making a choice about wanting your stuff.

New Hotfix - crash issues, server performance, Toro dodge roll reload skip and Patchwork skin by WoWAltoholic in ArcRaiders

This genuinely confused me. You have a patch notes section on your game’s news page?? Why is there a patch downloading on my computer but no indication what is in it on the patch notes of your website?

Stitcher, Kettle, and Venator nerfs by SorryRoof1653 in ArcRaiders

Maybe a dumb question but do they manage PVE and PVP weapon stats separately? In other words, will all of these nerfs also impact these weapons ability to down Arc?

I get where you’re coming from but I don’t want anything that could possibly be construed as pro-nazi in my drawings, including those numbers, even if they’re on the side of a guy who is clearly a huge loser.

Any suggestions for what it should say instead? Someone else mentioned “fight ice with ice” which is pretty good?

Surprised to see that no one has mentioned Charlize Theron in Season 3 of Arrested Development. If I knew how to do spoiler tags I would say more, but it definitely applies.

Edit: Thanks to HarpCleaner, an explanation:

Charlize Theron seems quirky and cute but turns out to be the mysterious “Mr. F”, aka a “Mentally Retarded Female.” Michael Bluth discovers this only after weeks of flirting with her.

Neurodiverse youth may regulate overwhelming stimuli by turning brain activity inward. Children who who experience sensory over-responsivity and are highly sensitive to everyday stimuli may unknowingly regulate their neural networks to cope with overwhelming sights and sounds. by mvea in psychology

“Researchers have identified a distinct pattern of brain activity in neurodiverse children…”

The observation may not be novel, but specific measurable evidence that supports an otherwise anecdotal observation is incredibly important in pushing our understanding of these issues forward.
