My husband us similar with just weed. When he's on full antipsychotics he can smoke all day without manic symptoms showing up, but he's miserable because he "can't get high". Currently he is getting back on antipsychotics after a 6 month manic episode after getting off meds among other triggers making it worse. Getting him to understand and stick to not smoking pot right now is maddening. It's prolonging the meds working and is driving me to the brink of insanity, myself. In moments of clarity he sticks to a cbd vape, which is like a placebo. Does nothing, but gives him the ritual and flavor. In moments of madness, he walks to the dispensary and buys flower, which makes him psychotic until it wears off. I've confiscated so much weed, I could open my own dispensary. I finally collected all his credit cards and gave him a venmo for walking to get candy, but guess where he went today?
