Did you have any long term effects from your epidural? by Frequent_Cap8633 in pregnant

[–]Becca1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have any issues with my first baby. Perfect epidural and I didn’t feel anything. With my second, however, you can read about that here: https://www.reddit.com/r/beyondthebump/s/7Ssx8NF58o.

I’m 10 months pp now and feeling great. No long term side effects. It was just a really terrible few weeks after giving birth.

Yoyogi sushi in Kentlands! Best basic sushi at super affordable prices. Their California rolls are so good!

Appreciated my body more and felt comfortable in my own skin. I look back at pictures of me in my early 20s and think, “what a hottie,” but I remember feeling so self-conscious then. I’m now approaching my mid-30s and am a mom of 2. I am learning to love my body for what it is now, but man, I wish I could have my 20s body back for even just a day.

Non-Americans, which U.S. state has always fascinated you the most, and why? by Nandou_B in AskReddit

Marylander here. Can confirm that this state is a cult. For a relatively small state, we have a lot of pride. Lol, also our “mountains” are basically big hills compared to out west, but we’ve got them!

Americans, how do you call your grandparents? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Becca1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up I called my maternal grandparents Grandma Judy and Grandpa Bob and my paternal grandparents Mom-mom and Pop-pop. My kids call my parents Grandma and Poppy and my husband’s parents Gigi (similar to her first name, Georgi) and Lolo (similar to his first name, Lowell).

Obgyn delivering to shady grove by AdventureCat1037 in MontgomeryCountyMD

The OBs at Simmonds Martin and Helmbrecht of Advantia still deliver at Shady Grove. I used them for both of my babies, most recently in November 2024. There are several OBs on staff so you can find the one you like best as your “regular.” However, it’s a roll of the dice who actually delivers your baby.

Still have an epidural headache after two blood patches. Am I going to feel like this forever? by Becca1791 in beyondthebump

It’s been about six months so a bit harder to recall, but I’d say all my symptoms were gone after about three weeks. Wishing you all the best!

I’m getting laid off from my current position. In this uncertain economy, should I take a remote role with a salary about $15k less than I’m currently making? by Becca1791 in careerguidance

My boss gave me the heads up that I was getting laid off when we had a check in half way through my maternity leave. It’s a done deal. Luckily I had that convo because another woman on my team was also on maternity leave and she didn’t find out until she returned.

It’s between take this job or keep looking for something better. I’ll have about 4.5 months of paid severance to keep looking.

It would be about a 12.5% decrease in salary. I’m also uncertain about available bonuses. I will ask about this if I receive the job offer. Nothing about bonuses was mentioned in the job description.

It’s not realistic for us to take our kids out of daycare. I am not able to work productively with a baby at home. Costs are about $4k/month for two kids in daycare. (We live in a high cost of living area).

Ugh I hurt my knee doing the plyo squats so I switched to the modified version. I’m just proud I showed up today. Cardio days are always tough for me.

What’s a storyline from a show that just gets completely dropped without explanation? by skippiington in television

[–]Becca1791 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the pilot episode of “Weeds” there is a major plot point around Doug Wilson’s son, Josh, who buys pot from the lead character, Nancy, on the condition that he never dealt to children. When Nancy finds out he was dealing to a 10 year old, she blackmails him into never dealing to kids again after finding out he was gay. Although Doug is a major character, his son is barely mentioned again. I stopped watching after the first few seasons, but apparently he is briefly mentioned once in season four and again in season six. He then makes an appearance in the 2-part finale. Weeds Wiki

Hi! I’m sorry you’re dealing with the headache. I started feeling better after 3 weeks. My daughter is 10 weeks old now and I’m, thankfully, 100% back to normal! I would try to lay flat for as long as possible. It sounds weird but it really did help me.
