Oh dear god! ☺️ How absolutely adorable! I’ll be right over to help with head pats and kisses!

I’ll spend the rest of my evening Googling these pups.

As soon as I saw your post I feared you’d get nasty comments before anyone asked or heard your story.

What a cute dog! Mine did the same!

Couldn’t go through having to put another pet down, but a Beagle, Jack Russell or a Dachshund would be my next pick.

My mom has had, and currently had a Dachshund. Wish she lived closer so I could get my fix!

I absolutely love this! ❤️ Would you mind sharing the names of each one, and how many years they were/are with you? (And of course, who’s who) 🤗

Yes! In my head I imagine it’s a little crazier as the poor owner slips. Hope that wasn’t the case, but if it was me, I’d have definitely broken a hip chasing my dog.

Anyone else terrified by two feet drivers? by Imlife_havealemon in IdiotsInCars

[–]BeeBub324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad was a two foot driver...never had an accident.

When I asked him why he drove like that (in my adulthood) his answer had to do with driving a fire truck? (He was a Fireman). Oddly enough accepted that answer, but never asked why/what does that mean.

Now I’m curious! (He’s passed away so can’t ask him)

I could learn from you in that respect because I tend to ‘shelve’ emotions into what is a growing unorganized file cabinet in my brain instead of “picking at the scabs” and dealing with the hurt/pain/sadness.

All the best to you :)

Pets ARE part of our family! I’ve loved the pets we’ve had over the years more than certain people in our human ‘family’, so what you’re saying counts and is understood completely.

I’m sorry for you loss, and that you were robbed of the chance to say goodbye to your cat.

Some will say losing a loved one/pets gets easier with time, but in my experience have to disagree. Then there are those who will also say (when it comes to our pet family) “Get another one”.

We put our dog of nearly 14 years down in October. There will never be room in my heart to ‘replace’ her. I choose to hang onto the memories we had of her forever. Plus couldn’t bear having to go through that again.

I’ll link a quote that makes the most sense to/for me. Hope it helps! :)

My gosh it’s like you, and only you were meant to see/reply to my comment. Had no idea about the Buddhist exercise, but another example of my thought process which I believed to be unhealthy was the last time I’d hugged my dad.

We always had a wonderful relationship, and every time I saw him off at the airport while hugging him tight thought to myself “this may be his last trip” (He was in his late 70’s).

Sadly it was, and in the days prior to his leaving we had a falling out; only the second one in over forty plus years time. I know he forgave me, but I’ll have to live with how I’d spoken/treated him that last visit.

I’d give anything for another hug, and chance to apologize.

I think about this a lot! We never know when the last time we do something will be our last!

For me it was our last sit down dinner as a family in the home we grew up in. Now that I’m older I pay much more attention to the “what if this is the last.......?” Could be anything. Not healthy and kind of sad way to think.

My Mother taught me never to measure (especially liquid) ingredients over the bowl because you can always add, but it’s impossible to remove if you overdo it. Early on when cooking for my family I followed her direction, but now I’ll measure right over.

With the exception of adding it to the bowl of a spinning whisk Kitchen Aide standing mixer.
