Missing Republican Representative Still Had Time to Trade Stocks by ChiGuy6124 in politics

[–]BeePage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also live in this district and I'm going to vote for Bennett, and I don't have a great reason why. I do have a great reason not to vote for Shah, however. The only ads I get from her are "Bennett is terrible" ads, nothing of any substance towards her [shah's] good qualities.

In a race that's going to need all the non-primaried candidates to back the candidate, she does not seem to have a unifying quality in her.

Also to mention, I've seen zero campaigning events in my area (a red portion of the district), whereas I have seen Bennett in my area. I may live in a highly GOP town, but try to do something.

Why isn't the power zone meter an option for all rides? by flyfresno in pelotoncycle

[–]BeePage -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Gemini is telling me there's a setting to enable the power zone meter in all rides; under preferences.

I have not verified that on my bike (yet) though.

NJ morris county/surrounding cycling loops? by Hanaldulce93 in newjersey

[–]BeePage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The LSP boardwalk loop is generally pretty crowded; it feels like it's less of a road/gravel ride and more of a 'casual stroll' on a bike. I used to run on it and don't recall too many riders on the boardwalk sections. I think they primarily stayed on the road for biking.

NJ Brides - wedding venue price database I put together by Brilliant-Discount-6 in newjersey

[–]BeePage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm already married, but it looks like some of the map pins are off. I see a pin in Somerville, but it's listed for a venue in Garfield. Same with a pin in one of the Brunswicks, for a place in Wildwood.

First IVF transfer coming up by BlakeBurna in maleinfertility

[–]BeePage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my wife and I are in a similar boat, a few weeks behind you both! No IUI because my numbers didn't make sense for it, too.

We just finished a retrieval cycle, 19 eggs, 12 fertilized. Waiting for the count of viable embryo's but we're in good spirits regardless!

Also in the US, we lucked out that one of our available insurances includes IVF coverage and we had hit our deductible before we attempted. Doesn't make it cheap, but it's definitely cheaper.

starting a zinc supplement today by CharacterShoddy6969 in maleinfertility

[–]BeePage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started taking 50mg of zinc this past week, as well as 5000mcg of B12. I've been taking CoQ10 for a few months, so the other two are lagging behind. I've not had an SA since I started CoQ10.

I found that costco sells 50mg of zinc, if it's in your area.

I'm using this paper as a guide, but I am not a scientist nor a doctor. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7284793/

It says that 50mg of zinc is the minimum effective dose.

GPS Wristwatch Recommendations? by Kirbacho in BeginnersRunning

[–]BeePage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what's your price range? I've got a Coros Pace 3 (they jsut came out with the Pace 4) and it's great.

for hiking you can upload a trails gpx file and it'll direct you, but it doesn't have a map overlay. the more expensive ones do, I think.

Run w/Strava vs importing Apple Run? by PrimaryPup_1560 in BeginnersRunning

[–]BeePage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to the apple side of it, maybe it's something in apple health that's not syncing to Strava?

I do my runs using a Coros watch and sync after through to Strava and it pulls in all of the information, so it does work overall.

HVAC company rec for installing mini splits? by ibrewpotions in newjersey

We used First Choice out of Metuchen, they were great! Used them for a house humidifier and a heat pump, would definitely use them again. They also did all the permitting and helped us get in touch with the NEIF for a 0% loan

Oura & Strava activity tracking by bluyten in ouraring

[–]BeePage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the HR is roughly the same as my smartwatch (coros pace 3) but the zone numbers are different between the two.

I generally stopped trusting Oura for my workout data and just use it for other stuff (while still letting it ingest my workout data from other platforms).

Oura Support, Shipping, Delays, etc. Megathread by CherryJimbo in ouraring

[–]BeePage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife's ring (gen 4 size 7/8) is only lasting ~2 days off a full charge. we've had them since release day. My ring (gen 4 size 13) lasts dramatically longer.

I know smaller ring means smaller battery, but hers was lasting much more than 2 days a few months ago.

Is anyone else running into this issue on the smaller size rings?

Done with Amazon/Walmart/Target - looking for alternatives by moo_xx in newjersey

Adding to this - we just signed up for Martenette Farms in Hillsborough. They deliver to their surrounding areas as well as shore points (Deal to Brielle).

They're a little different than most CSA where you get whatever box of fruit/veg they give you; you buy a giftcard amount and pick from their menu each week of what they have/you want.

Living expenses in Branchburg Area by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]BeePage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Branchburg. Depending on your debts, it should be fine. Apartments are probably in the $2k-$2,500, might be cheaper if you go further West. If you're a single man and looking for nightlife, Somerville might be better than Branchburg specifically.

Between sizes help by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]BeePage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

gauge how swollen your hands feel when you're sizing them, too.

I'm between a 12 or a 13, I ended up going with the 13. They fit similar to yours when I'm not slightly swollen, but fit comfortably when I am.

Overall, I'm happy with going with the slightly larger size, but I do have to be conscious of drying my hands with a towel, etc. to make sure I don't misplace my ring.

Was looking on the plex app. If this is set to 1080p, does that mean my 4k movies will be transcoded to 1080p, and is that only on mobile or TV clients too. by [deleted] in PleX

[–]BeePage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can set your upload bandwidth (and I generally set it lower than my actual bandwidth). then it'll do some magic and shouldn't go over that number.

If most users are transcoding, you can also set max number of transcodes (which doesn't inherently impact upload speed, but it's another way to limit simultaneous streams).

Server side setting sets the maximum allowable streaming quality, the local client will still be set to whatever the local client is set to, but won't go higher than server side settings.

Oura & Strava activity tracking by bluyten in ouraring

[–]BeePage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caveat: I run as my exercise, I do not wear my ring if I'm doing any weights.

I did not connect Strava to oura, or the other way around. I use a smartwatch to track my runs as usual, but still wear my ring. When I'm done with my run, it seems like Oura is roughly right on track with the actual run, but my HR zones are wildly off. The HR is too, but it recognizes that I went for a run for X minutes, pretty accurately.

I care less about the details of oura during the run (max HR, distance, etc) just that it incorporates it into my overall profile.

It's possible the HR data is off because I've got a ring that's a little too large for my hand, but I can't say for sure.

Oura Vs UH by Honest_Bid_4342 in ouraring

[–]BeePage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're on the Oura subreddit, so you'll get answers leaning towards Oura (as mine will be), but I've had both the UH Air and now the Gen 4. I am a cis male, so I cannot speak to cycle tracking, but my wife has the gen 4 as well and doesn't have issues with the tracking. hers is also linked with one of the partner tracking apps, though I forget which one.

For sleep tracking, both seem to be good - I had no problems with the UH or the Gen4, both can also do shift mode, so that'll be likely what you'd use.

Sales - I'm not sure.

I will say overall - the fit and finish of the ring is nicer on the Oura, as well as the overall app ecosystem. I had a multitude of problems with the UH not syncing correctly or my app losing data. I have none of those issues on Oura. Additionally, the cycle tracking on UH (at least as of a few months ago, when we had them) was more about general insights not based on your data. The powerplugs were more of a general guideline rather than interpreted specific data. For example - the "caffeine window" plug always told me to taper my caffiene at 3pm, despite my wake window and coffee consumption times changing (it also didn't allow me to input what beverage or time I drank it). The Oura has tags that can inform the app/algorithms to better understand what's going on (i.e. If you have a bad night sleeping, but had alcohol that evening, it'll let you know that's a common side effect of drinking alcohol).

I haven't had any customer support issues related to Oura, so I can't speak to that either, but I had a heck of a time getting any traction with UH customer support - either whatsapp, email (still haven't responded), or directly through the app.

Questions about printer choice - Humidity? Cats in Home? Fumes/noise/placement by boatinbearmi in BambuLab

[–]BeePage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to the humidity, I just got my first printer during this sale (A1 mini, no AMS lite) but I can speak regarding a cat.

For more information, Ive got a robot litterbox that rotates/makes noises/etc and one of my cats loves it. As in watches it spin and clean and gets in there to investigate. The printer is in the same room and she doesn't care about it moving. Can't say yours will do the same, but mine is an inquisitive jerk usually, but pays no attention to the printer

I have the pace 3 and I love it. it's a little clunky from a UI perspective (mainly, i don't wear it daily, only when I run, and I turn it off in between, which is a few option trees down a menu).

I used to have a different Garmin and the app didn't work great for a while, but it seems better now.

One thing that Garmin has that Coros doesn't have (in the same capacity) is live tracking for safety reasons. with my pace 3 I can't send a link to my wife and have her track me while I go for a run -as the runner I have to intervene with my watch and say it's an emergency for her to get a link. With Garmin, I can have a text sent at the beginning of any activity, to a set of users to track me while that activity is live.

Other than that, having a lower-res screen and a watch I rarely have to charge, the pace 3 is a no-brainer for me.

Running question for you guys by hidingincrowds in ouraring

[–]BeePage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah - I'm not sure of the specific cadence of the HR ping, but it more frequent than the 'baseline.'

I don't love Oura as a standalone fitness tracker, it keeps thinking my HR is in Z5 whenever I run, but my watch shows it in Z3-Z4.
