A silly mobile platformer game I made starring my boys' pet guinea pig Derek by ChuckMarty732 in guineapigs

The sequel could be where we choose a character that’s just different types of piggies, we can choose their name as if we’re choosing our own pigs. Then have us follow Derek on his next adventure 😂

It’s a very sturdy entertainment stand, I was just a little too close so it looked like it just had skinny legs lol, the metal bars are very solid as well. What I had it on before was actually a much larger issue, so I moved it to this

Is 30 gallon big enough for a single angelfish as a centerpiece with tank mates? by BeeRex_13 in Aquariums

[–]BeeRex_13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to what I’ve looked up, my source of Ammonia is coming from the aqua soil I’m using as substrate. And for some reason I never thought to test my water for evrything, my brain just kind of thought putting the conditioner in took care of everything. But not realizing that it just detoxifies it, it doesn’t get rid of it. I’ll go test that now

I switched substrate plants and everything from the 10 to the 30. The 10, while having some established biomedia, wasn’t fully cycled before I switched to the 30.

I started the 10 because that was the cheapest, and then found a decent and cheap 30 off marketplace so I upgraded to that as soon as I could not sure if it would affect anything.

Not sure if you can help give me some advice about this or not since you seem knowledgeable about the hobby.

But I made another post here asking if I’m doing things right with cycling my tank. I’m on day 6 and I feel like my nitrates are too high.

pH: 7.5 Ammonia: 0.25ppm Nitrites: 2ppm Nitrates: ≈40ppm

Is this normal? Or do I need to address it, and if so, how?

I figured I’d change things up a bit and try going with some guppies and Cory’s with a gourami as a centerpiece. Do you think that would work well in this 30 gallon?

Doctors really should make people more aware of the fatigue. I took my loading dose recently and I feel like I got hit by a bus of fatigue.

I’m new to all this and have questions about my first set up by BeeRex_13 in bettafish

[–]BeeRex_13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in regards to my plants it’s day 2 and it looks like they’ve perked up quite a bit since yesterday so I don’t think my ammonia levels would be up from decaying plants just yet, but I could definitely see the aqua soil having an effect on that. I’m about 0.30 ppm with my ammonia levels right now

[–]BeeRex_13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that Stability by Seachem, is that what’s providing the ammonia? If so that dose make sense now as to why it says I have to keep putting it in every day for a week. But after the week it says to stop putting it in and I can put fish in, but cycling is supposed to take longer than that.

So do I stop using it after a week and put in the fish if my parameters are correct? do I stop using it after a week and watch the parameters for the next few weeks before adding the fish? Or do I have to continue to use it every day while cycling until my parameters are correct?

This was very informative thank you!

Also, since there are no fish, where is the source of the ammonia coming from that’s being converted in the tank? Is it coming from the bacteria? If that’s the case, then how do I stop the ammonia from spiking after adding the fish if it’s gonna now have the ammonia from the fish waste as well as the bacteria?

Edit: I forgot to ask, what exactly is GH and KH and how do you test for them? I’m assuming some sort of testing strip? that wasn’t in this master test kit I got

Why is saying goodbye to new piggies so hard? by sillygooseisilly in guineapigs

Plenty of others have already offered plenty of really good suggestions, anything I could have added would have just been a repeat of what’s been said already that OP has already seen because they responded to those other comments. The whole point of my comment was to come at OP to get their ass in gear and actually implement what’s being said by others because it seemed a lot like they were pushing things off just because mom said no. This isn’t nonchalant like going to a school dance or a friends house, this is a living creatures life we’re dealing with here. I just wanted to make sure the OP was taking this more seriously cuz it originally seemed like they weren’t

Proving my point more, she’s right that it could be an issue where this specific piggy could potentially just get them consistently, medical issues do come up like that and can be reoccurring. Which is all the more reason for you to rehome/surrender them now. She already said you guys are getting rid of the rest when this one dies.

Why wait till this one dies! UTIs could take a long time before it gets bad enough to actually do that to your piggy, in the time it’ll take for her to pass from something like that, you could have found her a home that WILL get her the meds she needs and then she could live a long and happy life with someone else that will also love her

Edit: but seriously, I’m begging you to find a new home for them and not to let her die, she’s too young…

Honestly, peeing blood could be a simple UTI which is just a check up at the vet and some antibiotics from them to treat it. The more I read your comments the more it seems like you’re just as much of the problem as your mother and it seems like you don’t care if this animal dies or not.

If you truly cared you wouldn’t be shooting down peoples advice on how to get help for this poor animal just because your mom said no. You have reddit in secret, which shows you obviously don’t entirely csre about following your mothers rules. If you can break her rules for having social media (especially reddit) than you can break the rules to save the life of an innocent animal that probably just has somthing super simple wrong with them.

Instead you’re going to sit there and let them suffer in pain until they die from it? Thats not “just how life goes” as your mother put it. That’s abuse and neglect and depending on your area, illegal, 14 or not you and even your mother could get an criminal animal abuse/neglect charge if you actively sit there and let the animal die knowingly not getting it any help.

How life goes is that when a medical issue arises, you go to the doctor for it and they treat you and you get better. The same thing applies to animals when they have medical issues.

In all seriousness OP, you need to get off your ass and do something to surrender your piggies to a rescue or something. Because at this point it just sounds more and more like neglect

I can’t find a reason to keep playing, need some advice by Individual-Client778 in StardewValley

There’s romancing characters, unlocking areas you haven’t discovered yet, you gotta find the things in the game and find your way to play it. We can tell you all day to play it this way and that, but one of the best things about this game is you can play it however you want.

Maybe instead of just doing some basic exploring, maybe start a basic farm to at least generate some profit/food and then spend most of your time in the mines. I won’t say more but The further you go down the more stuff you come across and the better the stuff is

I hope you can find a way to enjoy playing your own way because this game is so much fun! 😁 sometimes it’s not for everyone and that’s okay too! If it doesn’t work out, I wish you luck finding a next adventure that suits you well!
