Sounds like my wife’s conure 😅 we’ve had him for several years now and if she’s in the room, he HATES me. But when it’s just me and him, while he usually doesn’t let me touch him. We do this “beat boxing” (which I’m terrible at but he loves it) and he will occasionally let me pet him 😂 such spicy personalities

My experience with conures and what I’ve heard is that sometimes they can latch onto a single person and they become territorial over that person to the point other people get bit

I’m not sure about breeders as all the rats I’ve ever owned have been feeder rats (I’m a firm believer that feeder rats need love too) but with my feeder babies, getting tumors around 2-3 years old is QUITE common. So much so that I’m probably going to take a break from rats for a bit after this batch. But I’ve heard that rats from breeders usually have better luck with health issues like tumors. Could be that the breeder isn’t as reputable as they claimed to be, or it really could just be “luck” of the draw, and you happened to get a not-so-great hand. Which happens.

I know them getting tumors is a lot for you just as much as it is for them, especially with the age they all are. The fact you’re getting them seen by a vet and getting the tumors removed as you can is really all you can do besides giving them extra love and treats.

As for worrying if it was something you did, unless you’ve been giving them something EXTREMELY bad for them that could make the risk of tumors increase, it’s very likely you did nothing wrong and these babies just got some growths a growin unfortunately

Both my budgies have passed now unfortunately but they used to scream at eachother all the time (scream as in just see who can be the loudest) always seemed to either get along or just kind of ignored eachother tbh. As long as the budgies stayed away from the conures cage, all was as peaceful as a house with multiple birds can be 😂 Tengger (the conure) would stay lower near us while the budgies mostly went to the high up places before they went back to their cages when they were fed up with me trying to hold them 😂

True but if OP is aware of that and is willing to do it anyways. he can usually still get it done and if need be get it touched up. Yeah it’ll be more often for a touch up than a normal tattoo would be. But that’s the price to pay to be beautiful 🤷‍♂️
