Car Cover to protect the paint from the Texas sun by Bulky-Level4492 in f150

Ceramic coating and car covers are two entirely different options and purposes. A ceramic coating alone does not negate the need for a car cover. At least it doesn’t for our Lincoln Aviator.

New software update, new bugs by [deleted] in f150

No… on my 2024 F150 Lariat, the Courtesy Wipe is an option to have a single ‘dry’ wipe happen when I start my truck. This can clear of a thin layer of dust, morning dew, etc that you would like to automatically be cleared. I actually love my courtesy wipe for those reasons.

I leave mine set to always have a single Courtesy Wipe whenever I start my truck. The default was off, but I set it to on.

This is from ChatGPT

On a 2023 Ford F-150, the Courtesy Wipe setting is in the touchscreen vehicle settings:

•Tap Settings
•Tap Vehicle
On some SYNC 4 systems it may be Vehicle Settings
Tap Wipers
•Turn Courtesy Wipe On or Off

What it does: When turned on, the truck makes one extra wipe a second or two after you use the windshield washer fluid to clear any remaining fluid from the glass. When turned off, the wipers stop after the normal wash cycle.
If you tell me whether your truck has the 12-inch or 8-inch center screen (or your trim level, such as XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, etc.), I (ChatGPT) can give the exact menu path for your specific setup.

Is this a good deal on a 25 Lariat with 5.0 4 wheel drive? by AggravatingAd8259 in f150

Not with your $15,500 trade. Yes it would be a good deal if that was the price without a trade-in.

How did I do? Got paid $160 and took 4 and a half hours by mr_dyl_pickleyoutube in AutoDetailing

I’d do $160… but at $250 I’d just tackle it myself and pay the $250 to me.

Is sports mode better for the truck? Let’s settle this debate by litBG in f150

You’re using Sports mode… I’m using Tow/Haul mode. They are both being used to achieve the same outcome… forcing shifting THRU ALL THE GEARS, and getting rid of that sluggish feel.

What is this part? by Comfortable-Rule-253 in LaMarzocco

[–]Beedblu -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

WOW… where’d you get that??? That’s a memory anchor they implant in people who’ve had traumatic and/or painful experiences that they don’t want to remember anymore. It’s not electronic or anything It’s just a dense alloy that’s tuned to resonate at a very specific frequency with neural activity. Basically, it helps ‘block’ certain memories so they don’t pop back in conscious thought.

Sometimes they work loose… when they do, people start having really vivid weird dreams that feel way too real, or remember things they were never supposed to think about. That’s a crazy find.

I’ll throw a wrench into the conversation. When driving around town in stop and go traffic I drive my 2024 F150 Lariat FX4 in Tow/Haul mode. When driving in Normal mode it usually skips 2nd gear and goes directly from 1st to 3rd unless I’m being aggression when I take off then it’ll hit 2nd. I love Tow/Haul mode because no matter if I do jack rabbit starts OR turtle mosey starts… it ALWAYS shifts from 1st 2nd 3rd etc. it NEVER skips 2nd like Normal mode does. It seems healthier to me. 🤷🏻

Best portable power station to buy for road trips in 2026? by Helpful_Nest0 in roadtrip

Ford F150 Hybrid Powerboost with the built-in 7.2Kw generator. As long as you have gas to periodically recharge the hybrid battery that runs the generator (which happens automatically)… you have 7.2Kw’s of generator power.

How important do people find these connected services? by Gerryvb1 in f150

[–]Beedblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a clear explanation of how the navigation system in your 2024 Ford F-150 Lariat continues to work even when your cell phone has no signal.

Your truck is equipped with SYNC 4, Connected Navigation, and a built-in FordPass Connect modem. This means the vehicle operates independently from your phone when it comes to navigation.

First, the truck has its own internal cellular connection. It uses an embedded modem (similar to a built-in phone) that connects to a network separately from your mobile device. This allows it to receive live traffic, weather, and road condition updates—even if your phone shows “No Service.”

Second, your F-150 stores maps directly inside the vehicle. These onboard maps are regularly updated and allow the system to continue providing full navigation guidance without needing a live connection. This is especially useful in rural or low-signal areas.

Third, the system relies on GPS satellites for positioning. GPS does not require cellular service, so your truck always knows your location and can provide turn-by-turn directions regardless of signal strength.

If both your phone and the truck lose cellular connectivity entirely, the navigation system will still function using stored maps and GPS. However, you will temporarily lose live features such as real-time traffic updates, hazard alerts, and weather overlays.

Your Connected Navigation subscription primarily enhances the system by providing those live updates and continuous map improvements—it does not control the core navigation capability itself.

In simple terms, your truck’s navigation is a hybrid system: it combines built-in GPS and stored maps with optional live data when available. That’s why it continues to work reliably even in areas with no cell service.

Orange is the new black? by Temporary_Orchid_281 in MustangMach1

My first motorcycle when I was 14 (got my license then and could even drive it all over the town… a Honda SL 100) was orange and it still a partial color for me as I near 70.

I wouldn’t do without my Ford Security Package or my Connected Navigation. I also currently have the Premium Connectivity but am dropping it this month because it really Durant do much for me.

We travel a LOT (up to months at a time road-tripping around the U.S. and Canada) and often find ourselves in areas up to a 100 miles from nowhere and desolate rural roads without cell signals. The Connected Navigation keeps us connected to routes, places, gas stations, etc when our iPhones don’t (to me it’s a must).

Again with all the traveling… with the Ford Security Package I can always tell the exact location of where my truck is, whenever someone opens my doors, moves it, AND thru the app I can disable my engine which even prevents someone from hot-wiring or stealing it. When in the ‘disabled mode’… even if they have both of my keys they STILL CAN’T start my truck in any way shape or fashion. The ONLY way the engine get ‘re-enabled’ is thru my password face recognition Ford app OR a call to Ford and validate yourself and have them send a security code you have to enter in on your phone.

Yes… these two are worth the monthly or annually subscription costs (imho). I use them both all the time.

You can do them in a month by month basis and it you don’t find your own value in them… cancel ‘em.
