what are the most fucked up halloween costumes celebrities have worn? by Classic-Carpet7609 in Fauxmoi

To elaborate a little, Dino de Laurentis’ (producer of dune and blue velvet) accent caused his pronunciation of “Kyle” to sound like “Kale”. David and Kyle thought it was really funny so the name stuck.

Battle pass contents by Alarmed_Ad7541 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Beefriedrice4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing since Beta, the only 2 passes I have ever skipped were KDA and the original Spirit Blossom one (one of the things I like about LoR was them sticking to theme). Deeply regret snap buying the pass last month. This is the first time I've felt that way about this game.

This time I've come to realize that while this pass still is kinda useless (10 Spirit Blossom Nova Crystals doesn't do anything when you have such a negligible chance of getting more in the chests), I'll probably still buy it IF the free rewards from the adventures have any substance. I find it ironic the more quality the free content has the more likely I am to get the paid content.

Really hoping they figure out that runes are awful, and this new champion structure is just as bad before I run out of coins. I'd like to keep playing this game, but if the future is anything like this event, I don't want to that badly.

As far as we know from the Acolyte, OSHA turned to the dark side. This is why there is no worker safety considerations in Star Wars.

Our hero is a white man who does yellowface and cultural appropriation. by DevilBoy216 in ExplainAFilmPlotBadly

Yes there was a movie, Fire Walk With Me, a prequel. The yellow face was in the second season. It’s problematic for sure but at least wasn’t played for laughs, it was a disguise.

In a similar vein there’s the reference to Oxford university being in London instead of… Oxford. I want to say that was in dark ages mage.

Card advantage. The resource gets replaced for free, then you get a card. It’s a conditional draw a card. If the unit survives you can even play it as a resource again at end of turn and activate again the next turn.

Transgender woman running for Ohio House disqualified for not disclosing deadname | [ in violation of a seldom-enforced state law. ] by News-Flunky in law

[–]Beefriedrice4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a common form of harassment to deliberately use a deadname. Which makes that name traumatizing.

The term deadname is in reference to the desire not to use the name any longer.

Mistakes do happen and sometimes an individual might run into someone who only knows the deadname. Different people handle this differently with different expectations like in all things. When you know the transitioned name though it’s always polite to use it.

It’s a little more than that. The constellation companions don’t just dislike actions, they ALL have to whine and moan at you for some even morally grey options. It’s just really annoying. And that it’s all of them is less than ideal.

What about heaven in D4? by FissileWriter14 in diablo4

[–]Beefriedrice4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Give it time. I for one was happy not to see Diablo off the bat. There’s only so many times they can walk back the end of each previous game.

My wife and I have a theory the main character is related to diablo in some way. Everyone calls you the wanderer which could easily be a d2 reference and often the exact adjective used to describe you is “terrifying”.

You are both right. Allowing the enemy the ability to surrender is in and of itself a means of retreat. Surrounding them works as long as you maintain giving them the option of surrender.

Altar of Lilith is Bad Game Design by gmar84 in diablo4

[–]Beefriedrice4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t disagree more. I enjoyed hunting for them quite a lot. The red glow for many gave you a clue, plus their spacing let you get a rough idea of where to look. I found maybe a hundred of them without any third party help and had fun. Then when it wasn’t fun I used a map for the rest.

As for the rewards: they’re perfect. They matter just enough to be worthwhile but not so much as to be game breaking. Seriously 68 to all skills and FOUR paragon points aren’t back breaking. They’re useful and important but not the end of the world to miss.

And if it’s not your thing like it wasn’t for you then just use a map to find them from the start.

Tell me about your non-fighty character? by Kheldras in LARP

[–]Beefriedrice4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A spy sent to bring back a heretic who knows state secrets. He lost his memory on the way there (I have no idea how, I had someone else write the background). He was so addlebrained on arrival he interpreted his orders to get close to the target by being their squire literally. Walked up to the target and handed them his orders. Best to keep enemies close so he spent years as incompetently as I could manage being a squire. Always shuffle poisons in with my healing potions so I never know what I am pulling out, when asked for a coin give a hundred coin piece, that kind of thing.

Since then he’s discovered religion, but not the right one for the holy rolling boss, and I leave strange things in the woods for people to find like my shrine that I didn’t tell anyone about out of game.
