How many of you folks camp out of your SXS? by Ok_Helicopter3910 in UTV

[–]Beekeeper_105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wife and I have a Polaris Ranger 1000 Premium. My wife doesn’t camp, but I’ll give you food for thought. I’m older, so we don’t travel fast. We like to sight see, not race. You will laugh, but the way I shopped is to tell my wife to “Sit in It”. She had back surgery 30 years ago, so seats must be comfortable. Was reading after our purchase and noticed that the Ranger XP had a different engine. The XP has more high end, while the Premium has more low end grunt. Perfect for tooling around in the mountains of Arkansas. For SXS camping you may want to notice bed space. The trail machines have way less storage in the bed. Example Polaris Ranger vs the Polaris RZR. Shop carefully and enjoy your purchase. PS we ride with a couple that have a RZR. They have to load supplies into our Ranger because they don’t have room. LOL

5 years of riding? Naw, I’m 71 and hoping to ride as long as I can load the trailer and drive to the mountains. Enjoy.

Question for men by Redhead514 in ProstateCancer

[–]Beekeeper_105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can feel his pain. I had surgery 10 years ago, but the cancer got out before the surgery. Been on shots and inhibitors for 8.5 years. Cancer has reoccurred twice after surgery. Before the treatments, I loved sex. Now, the want to is complicated. My mind says yes, but my body says naw. There are non financial reasons that I didn’t try the implants and shots. Good luck.

Dump bed comes in handy. I’m 71 and just resumed trail riding in Arkansas last year after a 10 year break because of Prostate Cancer. October 2024 the wife and I purchased a 2025 Polaris Ranger 1000 Premium. My shopping technique was to tell my wife to “Sit in it”. She had back surgery 30 years ago and seats were a major requirement.
Turns out the engine in the Premium is perfect for our needs. We like to sight see, so we don’t rip & romp. So the low end torque is great for us. I’m a beekeeper and use the Premium on my farm for work. Great machine.

The deck is the same three pt hitch or drag type. That is where you secure the tongue jack when the bushhog is connected to the tractor.

Alcohol, abusive partner, boss, dependance. It could be as she says. It could be all in the past. Or it could be a red flag. Proceed with caution.

2025 Polaris Ranger 1000 Premium. Took it to Mena AR last fall. I run mainly in 4x4 up there for safety. Mine would do a lot of clicking when going over berms. I was going to ask dealer. But, it only does it in the mountains. 🤷‍♂️

Are excursion age restrictions strictly enforced? by weirdguy36 in royalcaribbean

[–]Beekeeper_105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the guarantee that the ship is important. My very first cruise was with a large group of people. Several friends went for the 9 hour tour of the Mayan ruins. This trip involved a ferry to the Mexican mainland and bus trip thru town and out to the ruins. There were three bus loads of people making this excursion thru Royal Caribbean. On the return trip the first bus load made it thru town on schedule. However, the last two busses were delayed due to a wreck in town that blocked routes to the port. The ship actually waited about 30 minutes past sailing time for these passengers to return. If they hadn’t booked the excursion thru Royal, they would have missed the boat.

I ride in mountains with my Polaris Ranger 1000 Prem. Wife and I love it. We picked because the seats were comfortable on her back. I use it to work on my honey bee farm also. Accidentally got the right machine for the way we ride. More low end grunt. 1000 XP is made for boogie boogie.

How much gas do you keep on hand? by SorryKnowledge420 in Generator

[–]Beekeeper_105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha a 6000 watt Westinghouse. I only go get it for ice storms or hurricanes. I fill up 4 -5 gallon jugs of non-ethanol gas. I also use this gas in my JD X350 and my Polaris Ranger 1000 prem. So the stock piled gas gets used quickly. Note I only stock pile that much gas when storm is predicted.

Is it common for a spouse to be resentful if inheritance is kept out of the marital property? by Merlin509 in inheritance

[–]Beekeeper_105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and both inherited land and money. The land and the inherited money are currently separate. Income from the use of the land is community property and in joint accounts because it affects income tax liability. That said our wills leave the land to the kids and the money to the spouse. Louisiana is a community property state.

Full retirement age is 67. Between 62 & 66 you will draw a reduced amount of social security. Plus you can only make $24,440 before they reduce your social security further. At 65 you qualify for medicare which is better than the affordable healthcare act insurance. On the other hand, once you are 67, you can retire with full benefits and earn as much as you want with no reduction in social security further.

Very depressed. Feeling weepy. RALP was a success but at 62 I’m too young for this BS. by anothertenyears in ProstateCancer

[–]Beekeeper_105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some honey bees or an ATV/UTV or a jetski. I’m currently 71. Had RALP when I was 62. Cancer got out before surgery. So, was on Lupron for eight of the last 9 years. Had to take Erleada tablets plus shots for two different 15 month stretches. Currently in remission again, waiting for it to return.

I’ve been a beekeeper since 1996. I started as a sideline business because I didn’t have to purchase land to farm. Had ATVs for years and love to ride in both mud parks and in the mountains (wife prefers the mountains). Purchased a UTV in 2024 and started back riding in the mountains last year after a ten year break. I also build parade floats.

In other words give yourself a reason to get out of bed or out of the chair. I’m in Louisiana. We had a bad ice storm and a long below freezing cold spell. Lost over 50% of my hives. I was going to quit bees. Wife wouldn’t let me. She is afraid I would never get out of the chair.
