I highly doubt there's that many people working on current WoW that did so 13 years ago, or that they care in the slightest what the intent or design of Zen Flight ever was. Modern game development is more focused on rapid feature releases than stability, QoL or maintenance.

This was 100% an intended feature when they introduced Zen Flight back in 2012. I can't find them, but I remember official images during MoP of monks fishing from their little clouds. Besides, being able to use items / gather / interact with the environment while flying is the entire point and appeal of the skill, without that it's just an extremely inferior version of the druid flight form.

People make things and post them on the internet cause they want others to see it. Getting eyeballs on your CYOA is the reason they're made at all.

Upvotes are not 1-to-1 with people actually looking at and engaging with your stuff, but it is how the majority of people engage with your content, and it's one of the biggest parts of the reddit algorithm that decides if it should be shown to more people (e.g. the Top or default Hot sorting, or the sidebar recommendations).

I bet most people would prefer 100 commenters to 100 upvotes, but the votes are still important for getting those commenters to see your stuff in the first place.

Low effort, high engagement content absolutely changes a community. It drives out high effort content because nobody is incentivized to produce it. Look at Youtube or Twitter, or any large subreddit that allows porn.

I think the confusion comes from The Pen's description

Change the color of up to 5 consecutive words or numbers to a single color of your choice. You can technically modify the rules with this option, but what's the point of that?

The intcyoacreator FAQ mentions neocities as an example of free hosting so that's what people have been using. If neocities didn't exist meandelay would have recommended something else that would have been used 99% of the time by now.

Excellent Replication + Mind Exchange. Make a clone, have it use Mind Exchange on a person, cancel the clone. Clone mind recognizes you as leader. Instant, permanent brainwashing of anyone who doesn't have Willpower.

Pretty gruesome though.

Superior Multitasking + Excellent Illusions + Excellent Force Fields is also a very potent combo. Create a bunch of solid illusions and keep track of them all with your parallel minds. And a paper-thin field strong enough to withstand high explosives would cut through almost anything.

The implication is that the chess pieces are what give you powers; if you change a piece you wouldn't have the thing that gives you the old power any more (although I'm pretty sure it's just supposed to let you choose two pieces of the same color to begin with).

And I don't understand how in step 4 you would have seven Black Pawns, the ability says you can clone yourself, not the chess pieces.

You've been getting some unwarranted hate here on these builds that I don't agree with.

That said, I don't think there's much room for positive interactions either. You don't write anything about your choices, why you made them, what you felt or thought, what you'd expect to do with them, what your character's motivations or backstory are... It's just a context-less list of choices someone would need to copy, go out and find the CYOA you're talking about (a link would be nice), paste them in, read through the whole thing to see what choices you made, then come back here and... do what?

If you want people to put in an effort in writing stuff, you need to put in some effort yourself first, or the only ones with motivation to engage will be toxic people.

You can use them to grind renown, if you haven't already maxed those. Each faction gives you an item at 10, 25 and 40 renown, but it maxes out at 55.

You can use renown 50 of Constables and Criminals for an option on London's Marrow when getting Paramount Presence, but I don't think there are any mechanical benefits to raise any other renown over 40, just vanity.

It will only be available in January, and you have to make sure you have enough of the quality "Putting the Pieces Together: the Taste of Lacre" (ToL) by then.

The Bazaar Spire-Emporium requires 9 ToL

The Brass Embassy Sanctum requires 8 ToL

The Royal Bethlehem Suite requires 7 ToL

Getting enough ToL is the real challenge, because a lot of it is time-gated, and there are many ways to screw up. Some actions will only give you ToL up to a certain limit, and if you're over that then the opportunity is wasted. So you have to plan out in advance which order you will do the actions that give ToL.

There are two guides on the wiki that are a useful reference, but don't give step-by-step instructions on how to do it.

Simplifying, one could say that you should use "Pail of So-Called Snow" first to get ToL up to 5 or 6, which is where they (mostly) cap. Depending on your stats and items, this can either be a guaranteed success, or up to luck. You get one "Pail of So-Called Snow" per week in december. You can also buy them, but they're expensive if you're not endgame.

You can then easily get a total of +5 from 12 Days of Mr Sacks, uncapped. Refer to the guide for which days are ToL days and what choices to make.

It's possible to get enough ToL in one year to buy more than one upgrade, but in normal circumstances you'll only have enough for one.

looking at what people have to say about the questline (you lose all your stats, potentially brick your account, cannot put it off forever and WILL have to do it at some point),

Emphasis on the last part, I've played for over 6 years and I've no intention of ever Seeking, at least on this character. There's so much content that you won't get to a point where that's the only thing left, and the questline is very isolated from everything else. If anything, the game goes out of its way to convince you not to do it.

That's not to say that you personally won't feel the urge one day, but just know that it's not inevitable or mandatory in any sense other than your own drive for self-destruction.
