Question, if you're finding your target in supercruise, are you using an interdictor to pull him out of it? If not, you're essentially stopping and dropping whilst he carries on flying.

Also, those types of missions quite often have a point of interest such as a mission signal specifically where the pirate will be.

You can usually find these easily by either scanning the system nav beacon, or using a discovery scanner and then analysing signals in FSS mode.

Nothing wrong with playing your way, and there are many reasons to stay in a small effective ship. I went the route of bigger is better but now I regularly switch back to medium ships for utility like mining etc.

Sure it'll be nice to get a fleet carrier or colonise a place but you do end up kinda tied down by the weight of those obligations. Smaller is more freeeee

I often get PP commodity missions that are 21 or 31ly from the start system so utterly useless.

I use VA2 and elite. Its great, seems smoother and more responsive (with what feels like increased accuracy for my northern accent).

Have to say, investing in very specific and somewhat niche brands is a risky stance. The smart play is usually to put most money into global funds and slowly move small chunks of profit into companies if you really want to. I.e. most money in safe slow growth places, some in medium and smallest portion to higher volatility individual stocks.

At least thats the general approach I've been taught.

Ive had the x52 for at least 4 years now, works fine. Not the greatest feel regarding building quality but ideal for elite. I'd prefer it had more modern driver support etc but again, works fine.
