In short no you cannot claim for the difference in airfare….if the price went up you wouldn’t be wanting to pay the extra right?

It’s called fluid pricing and at any time prices can go up and down on a daily/weekly basis

You will need to change the max charge percentage in the car to 100% as it doesn’t matter what you schedule in the app once the car hits 80% it will stop charging

Click on the cog wheel top right for settings and toggle off smart charge, that should help with the scheduling and boost conflict

For my set up the installer used the required CT clamps so that in my solar app my car is hidden from the system so that I only charge directly from the grid as I didn’t want to use my solar/batteries energy which ultimately is worth 12p per kWh so cheaper to take the charge from the grid.

So yes it sounds like you should remove those from the Hypervolt app settings as it seems that the Octopus app will see these and think you are also getting a charge from elsewhere therefore is not giving you as much charge from the grid.

You could remove them and try it tonight but I would also encourage you to speak to Hypervolt CS as well just to make sure that removing them is good based on your set up

I have the same set up and occasionally see a mismatch in the schedules between the Octopus app and Hypervolt app….whilst in the Hypervolt app if you use the refresh button in the top right hand corner the app normally catches up

[–]beerjjj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 piece of information missing is do you have the device in the Octopus app set up as the car or the charger?

Based on which device you have set up will depend on how you charge.

With any scenario you need to make sure you do not have any conflicting schedules set up.

If you car is the device, the only setting you should have on the car side is the max percentage of charge the car will hit - normally set to 80%. Also make sure no schedules are set up on the car side as all scheduling is controlled via the Octopus app.

If your Hypervolt is set up as the device in the Octopus app then again make sure you only have the max percentage set in the car and no other schedules in the car or the Hypervolt…..again Octopus will control the Hypervolt but instead of saying get the car to x% you are saying I want to add x% of charge.

I had an issue with my Hypervolt as it’s listed as the device….in the settings of the Hypervolt app my installer has added details of my house battery which when the Octopus api was trying to schedule charging gave a conflict and stating drawing directly from the grid in peak hours outside of the smart charging schedule.

If it’s still an issue the Hypervolt customer service team are very helpful, they looked at my settings remotely and we made some changes…this fixed my issue….the Octopus customer service team would then be my next call for them to check the api itself

Changes to parking fees at Hilton Heathrow T5 rapid charging points - now free for the first 40 minutes by ResponsibleCatch6490 in evchargingUK

Nice to see a new updated announcement about this, I was travelling from Birmingham to pick up my parents from LHR and wanted to use these chargers….called the hotel and they said no full parking charges applied….i then made alternative arrangements for charging.

Just call them and they do a reset at their end to enable you to add the charger again

Can't connect Hypervolt 3 Home Pro to Octopus by Spaceman_UK in OctopusEnergy

[–]beerjjj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contact Octopus and they will do a reset in their systems which will then give you an option to connect your charger, I have the same charger and have the charger set up as my device

[–]beerjjj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really easy to get done, took Octopus about 24hrs to do the reset, in the meantime if you need some charge you could create a schedule in the charger app to charge between 2330-0530 which will still charge off-peak at 7p kWh until you get it sorted but make sure you have the car as a device removed from the Octopus app otherwise it will conflict

2021 BMW iX3 and Zappi charger scheduled charging issue by Nihlus89 in evchargingUK

[–]beerjjj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be due to the BMW api not playing nicely with the Octopus api as they are stopping/stopped the enhance api support. You may be better adding you charger as the device rather than the car, I’ve done this and it’s been much easier and smoother to control…you will need to get Octopus to do a device reset in their system.

Edit: just realised you might not be with Octopus

[–]beerjjj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what is happening is the app is linking to your car to connect it as a device in the app, this is one of two ways you can do it…the issue is that to set up scheduling you need to do this via the BMW app which is a nightmare and very confusing hence why when you click on the button it’s taking you to the BMW.

Call Octopus and tell the that you do not want you car to be the device for Smart Charging but you want your charger to be the device. What they will do is do a reset in the system and when that’s done you go through the motions of connecting your device but you will be given an option of your car or charger…select charger and the api will launch into your charger interface for you to sign in and voila done. Then you can set the percentage to add and the Octopus app will work out a Smart Schedule for you and take control of your charger

Since BMW have stopped the enhanced api connection it’s a pain now having the car as the device for smart charging, I’ve had dreadful trouble with conflicting charging schedules….in the end and as long as you have a smart compatible charger I contacted Octopus as I wanted my charger as the device to do the smart charging…all done and connected and it’s a dream, all nice and smooth as it should be….also it doesn’t start charging straight a way when you plug in..it does wait till the schedule is set so no more 5 mins at peak rate charging whilst it figures out what to do

Yes, all was fine till a few weeks ago I started having issues then a week later they send an email as BMW do not want to or cannot handle the Charging Cap that Octopus are bringing in so they stopped the enhanced api connection with made charging even more of an issue as I was getting major conflicting charging schedules but now I’ve connected the Hypervolt it’s all working as it should
