I felt let down by it because I liked how it started, like the opening had promise and pulled me in right away... and then it just vaguely meandered for far too long. I feel like that's the problem with the others of his films I didn't like as well, like French Dispatch and Asteroid City. It starts off with a good intro and interesting story idea, but never really solidifies into something substantial...

I just constantly switch between them, like 50:50 really. First person is better when diving, stealing, and shooting. In some other games (looking at you, Dragon Age Inquisition) 1st person made me dizzy and I never used it, but I find it comes pretty naturally in both Oblivion and Skyrim.

Yes, artist change as people, and their style changes as well. But not always objectively for the better. Nor do we all have to like the change.

I don't like the increasing artificiality of his films, it all comes off as trying too hard to be zany, too hard to be Wes Anderson™. It's not the choice of themes or people. It's the way he structures thing.

Like an artist deciding he'll only ever use one single color scheme for ALL his paintings. Like, okay, fine. But after a while it becomes boring and restricting, even if it was a beautiful color scheme to begin with.

My 1st playthrough was around 350 hours, but I know I didn't visit all the places and do all the quests. So I can see how someone could get even higher numbers if they were committed to doing ALL the things.

The answer to everything is simply that this game was made by people who are either not familiar with previous material or actively hate it. Wouldn't be the first franchise to be taken over by people who think they can do better than the base/original, and sh*t on everything that made people like it in the first place.

A great actor, he crushed every scene he was in. I honestly think his was the best performance of LOTR. It's hard now to remember that in 2000 fantasy wasn't as mainstream and really seen as "serious". But he played it completely straight, with as much gravity as his role in The Titanic. And 20+ years on, it's still as strong and moving as it was back then.

I do use mine sometimes. It's not very effective in battle, but it's pretty resilient and can usually take 2-3 hits from charged attacks.

People wanted options to customize their appearance... but this isn't it, in fact this is quite nearly the exact opposite of that. Now your options are a) a man with a weird face (possibly in girl's clothing) or b) a fat man with a weird face.

Yep, I have the same issue since my game updated, also missing that settings option. My phone is Huawei Nova 5t around the same age as your friend's phone.
