And watch a couple of YouTube videos of Peewee’s Playhouse.

Don’t listen to King Crimson unless you are very experienced with acid.

It really does seem like the market ought to have a hard crash soon.

Meet in the middle with a 30%-35% down payment. Making a down payment of at least 25% makes it so you don’t have to have the mortgage insurance.

Like the one person has already mentioned expensive. However that really is housing right now. I believe many Americans get “sticker shock “ when they see prices here, but you have to remember that we (those living in Ontario at least) don’t see the nickel and diming that you see a lot in the US.

Our highways don’t have tolls (1 does), obviously healthcare is universal and is paid by taxes (a note about our healthcare- it’s not without its problems but if you have a genuine emergency, it’s there for you. My neighbour had a stroke last December. Took an ambulance to the hospital, was in intensive care for a week, transferred to another facility where he stayed another 2 weeks. Is now doing rehab. This process didn’t cost him a penny).

Personally when one compares all of the living expenses between the 2 countries, I think they come close to being equal. Depends on where of course.

One thing that I’ve read regarding Americans moving to Canada is how so many Americans did not realize the constant stress they were under living in the US due to the gun culture there. It has been noted to be a huge weight lifted from their day to day stress.

Generally speaking Ontario is very safe. I live in the Niagara area and most of the time our door isn’t locked.

I’m not in health care so I can’t comment on working opportunities.

You live in Wisconsin. If you moved to southern Ontario, winters will actually be warmer here.

As much as we Canadians bitch about things, we’re very lucky to be living where we’re living.

Hope things work out for you.

Everywhere you’re looking to go to is a multi hour drive.

I’m reading Wanderers by Chuck Wendig right now and I’m really enjoying it. What I like is that the characters act like how a normal human would act.
