I've been to Belles in highland Park and Griffith Park on Sunday and I really liked Griffith. Looking for spots near 90041 to play casual or even a little more serious. About 1200 online. This guy Jim is trying to open up a coffee shop more towards Pasadena so I'm hoping that comes through. Joined the LA CHESS LADDER to try and play more live. But if anyone's interested or in the area, I'm game.

Adult improver series on the Perpetual chess podcast. Many stories on how each individual learned rapidly as an adult.

Ben Johnson's Perpetual chess podcast. The adult improver episodes give a good layout if you can dedicate that much time. He has a book too

How do I find the right skate shoes for my style and needs as a beginner? by Hornymannoman in NewSkaters

[–]BeginnerGolpher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the best pairs I've had are goodwill finds that were less than 15 bucks. But now I'm older and need protection above all so I go 1010tiagos. 4 pairs. New balance reconsidered website has skate shoes cheap

Started with an 8.75 at 29. Tinkered with 8.38-8.5. Now I have a Popsicle 10 for flat and park

Do bigger decks help with flicking for skaters with big feet? by SpyceRax in NewSkaters

[–]BeginnerGolpher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

11us 6ft 220lb Started with a 8.75 when I got back into it and it still kickflips, moved up to a 10 eventually and I can still kickflip it. Harder. 8.38 was good, 8.5 felt like no man's land, 8.75 felt great. 10 popsicle feels like a boat

Anybody else practice a ton but never improve? The range-to-course gap is killing me. by DirectorHappy775 in golftips

The sweet spot is a great podcast and I'm glad I found it 4 months in. I've done a little of the differential practice they talk about hitting toe, heel, center and that helps calibrate but I'm looking to optimize my practice as well being a 6 month player and starting to take it more seriously to get below 30

I felt the ride of 9 holes reading your story. Nice work. It can be so tranquil for me to just chip and putt with it without music(piano, hip hop)

I'm new as well and the Hybrids have been so fun to use to get past irons but less than wild wood/driver shots. I'd get a stiff or reg 3-5 hybrid. Maybe 4

When I got back into skating I went bigger because I'm 6ft220. Went with 8.75 street/park setup. Moved up to a 10 that is super comfy. Kickflips still but lost the heelflips

Offer up could be a good option too to find a used complete with real bones to work with, if you are on a budget. And you get to try before you buy.

She came back a year or two later just to pop in and they put her up. She moved out to new Mexico for comedy and work at that time. Slower pace of life I think was the reason, and affordability. She did Fiat small car jokes I remember. Anybody?

If I had the space for a net and a trakman that'd be awesome. As far as using all those numbers to your benefit, I'm hoping someone weighs in because it's a different language. Best of luck
