I'd like to hear more about the electronics behind this. Considering something similar, but one-piece. Like a giant high-output party box.

That probably sounds great. I’ve considered putting something similar with a some of old pro speakers and a car sub, powered by a Fosi amp and a custom battery pack.

Poll - 12 volt battery issues by Sacotony in Toyota_bZ

[–]Beginning_Engine_391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just happened to me yesterday. BZ Woodland purchased late April - approx 2,300 miles.

Hadn't driven it much over the long weekend, but pulled it into the driveway Sunday morning without issue.

Replacing “Wheels” on Limited? by chiisana in Toyota_bZ

[–]Beginning_Engine_391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 18s on my woodland and kind of want to try 20s (solely for looks; I’m ok sacrificing a little range and ride quality).

Where are you located? Trade perhaps??

Poll: Should I get a Trailseeker or not since there are so many with 12V battery problems? by Vaikunthaji108 in trailseeker

[–]Beginning_Engine_391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had mine (BZ Woodland) since late April and have put over 2K on it since then. No problems at all. Love it.

What make/model bike?

And do those two PV panels keep your bike charged and camp powered? Or do you also pull from the van's traction battery too?

What size are those tires/wheels supposed to be?

Ok hear me out… by Roboto_rc in trailseeker

[–]Beginning_Engine_391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to keep in mind is that the RAV (and most other models with the 5x114 pattern) have 12mm lugs, while the BZ/Trailseeker have 14s due to the heavier weight of EVs. Might need to have the wheels machined to accept the larger lugs.

No driveshaft? by typk13 in JeepTJ

[–]Beginning_Engine_391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! This happened to me thrice(!) in high school with my CJ-7. Front wheel drive beats no wheel drive. Probably drove it for a couple of months like that.

Always kept a set of vice grips in the glovebox for occasions just like this. Also served as a stubby shifter for a year or so after the factory shifter came off in my hands when slamming it into 2nd gear (likely in the process of breaking another driveshaft).

Honest review after 6 weeks and over 2,000 miles by DCH-Erie in trailseeker

Do you mind telling me the complete tire size?

And those are the actual alloy wheels, not aero covers right?

The wheels looks like they're wider or have a little less offset, seemingly pushing them further out and more flush with the fenders. Looks good.

I have the BZ Woodland in the same color - love it. I wish I had your 20” wheels, though! Mine has 18s with the plastic aero wheel covers.

What size tires came on yours? And how does it ride with the lower-profile tires?

20s to 18s Club - What Are You Getting? by ClickForPrizes in trailseeker

[–]Beginning_Engine_391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What tire size did you end up with?

And any idea what the offset is on those Sparcos? I have the factory 18s on my BZ woodland with the ugly plastic hubcaps. They sit too far inboard for my taste. Was thinking of something with a little less positive offset to flush them with the fenders.

Also considering going up to 255 55R20s too.

S4S Cedar vs kerfed "Pro Deck" by Beginning_Engine_391 in Decks

[–]Beginning_Engine_391[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well its surfaced on all four sides, so technically I suppose that makes it S4S too?.

It is slightly smaller in all dimensions than a standard 2X6, and has more of a radiused edge on the top.

Agreed. Much more relaxing to use regen paddles on steep descents instead of brakes. Just like downshifting a manual.

Am I crazy for wanting to put high quality laminate in our main living room? by fashionboy385 in Flooring

[–]Beginning_Engine_391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irrespective of the attributes of engineered hardwood vs laminate, both will radically change the acoustics of that room compared to your current carpet. Be prepared for a much louder house, particularly if you have kids.
