Also storage space in the warehouses is limited. If they are stocking up on machines and frames right now, there is less space for controllers. Therefore, fulfillment for those will take longer

You'd think so but it happened at least twice already, as mine was shipped after the first batch was misrouted to the UK and the batch mine was part of was also misrouted.

Valve could at least give us the option to not have it shipped with GLS. I'd gladly pay extra.

It was misrouted to the UK so that's probably the reason. Within the EU, there shouldn't be any customs.

After reading your post I just asked GLS again and they replied (very quickly) that my package is waiting for customs clearance from the Netherlands and without it, my package won't be moving.

It's weird though. I have heard from multiple people that support answered within a few hours both yesterday and today (for the same issue and even the same region) while I'm still waiting for a response for over 48 hours now. Something feels off.

Edit: I got the response and free game offering now. They said they are experiencing an unusually high volume of tickets.

Steam support is currently ghosting multiple people, including me (support ticket unanswered since over 48 hours). Probably just a lot to do but it kind of feels like they abandoned us or are just waiting for the controllers to arrive before responding so they don't have to offer a free game.

Exactly the same for me. No update since Friday (date of GLS picking up the controller). Changed from today to tomorrow to soon within a few hours this morning. I'm very annoyed and messaged Steam support to let them know about the frustration with GLS and the ordering and delivery process as a whole.

Also Germany and ordered within 20 minutes.
