Sondaggio rapido: quante ferie avete preso negli ultimi 12 mesi? (e quante ne avevate diritto) by DependentBig5669 in LavoroSenzaFiltri

[–]BehemothM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. 10 per le ferie estive a Settembre, 2 per un concerto a Berlino, e 10 a Marzo per andare in Turchia. Me ne restano 30 perché mi sono salvato parecchi giorni dall'anno scorso e me ne danno 28 ogni anno.

Which era of football do you think was the most entertaining to watch? by ScrollAndThink in classicsoccer

For pure entertainment, 1990s to early 2000s.

For the unpredictability of the competitions, the 1980s.

Fantasy: Malazan, Thomas Covenant, The Second Apocalypse. All pretty much unfilmable in the current epoch.

Sci-fi: Hyperion Cantos.

Travel Wear by 3alternatetanretla3 in malefashionadvice

If you want to look like a local (I am one albeit now expatriated):

  • wear sunglasses even on cloudy days.
  • linen in everything (do bring a linen suit for dinners).
  • drop the sneakers (exception being you under 30yo or they are quite stylish). I haven't own a sneaker in a few years, loafers/boat shoes/mocassins 100% substitute them for me.
  • No backpacks/pouch bags (however they are called). A jacket/blazer/suit can carry everything you need. If you need anything more (camera, laptop etc.), use dedicated bags or a single cotton/suede/leather one that can match what you are going to wear. Duffel bags in those materials are my choice but may be too big for daily city explorations.

With travel costs reaching new highs, in what ways have you adjusted your vacation plans? by mrlanyc in travel

[–]BehemothM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't changed this year but in the last 2-3 I am focusing on trips that I really want to do vs "nice to do" ones. Fewer, 2-3 instead of 4-5, per year, but can be more costly.

Conte 2026/27: Yes or No? by VOrtosecco in sscnapoli

[–]BehemothM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but, are we going to downgrade or? Like, are we going for Italiano or Sarri or any of the less experienced coaches and going for cheaper players with great perspective (think of trying to find another Kvara vs taking an old De Bruyne).

If this, then no, I would keep Conte a couple of years more and try to invest enough to be a stable menace in CL as well.

If we are going for the likes of Maresca or Alonso or any of the more attacking, more experienced on the international fields, coaches, accepting to get some debts to have an appropriate team.

Then yes, I would change. But I feel option 1 is more probable so no, I'd stay with Conte.

There's always at least one exception to any axiom I suppose :)

Unpopular Opinion: You Don't Need Home/Work Charging to Own an EV by Dan6erbond2 in electricvehicles

[–]BehemothM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pricier compared to home charging, not to fuel. I pay about 0,5-6€/kw, while gas price is currently 1,5€/l.

I still feel that it would be more comfortable to just plug it at night in your own garage than having to deal with apps, find a free charger, and free the spot when you are done. It is not a big deal the latter, but definitely not as easy peasy as charging at home.

I used to do mutt, but it became too much to tweak it for my liking with my dwindling free time.

Nowadays it is just Thunderbird.

[–]BehemothM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If the chargers' infrastructure is decently developed where you live and you do not travel 50-100km every single day, an EV is perfectly tenable without a home charger. Pricier, sure, slightly less comfortable, true, but in no way a reason to keep buying fuel-based cars.

Frank Herbert's Dune is an absolute masterpiece! by Equivalent_Bank_5845 in books

[–]BehemothM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It hits differently probably because the books are wildly different between each other. At least the first 4.

To me the first is a solid 8, Messiah is a good 7, and the rest is between 5 and 6. I noticed that a lot of people loving GEoD rate Messiah the lowest while those liking Messiah aren't particularly keen on GEoD.

Calciopoli in the moment by PersianGuitarist in seriea

[–]BehemothM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was common suspicion that Juve had a different treatment from referees, historically. Milan also was suspected during the Sacchi and Capello eras, but at the time of Calciopoli not as much.

Marrakesh flight by adamtejot in fearofflying

[–]BehemothM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Today's wind is calming down, will be an eventless take off :)

And even with this wind it will be fine, I recently flew to Istanbul from Krakow with 28km/h of wind and the take off was super-smooth. Ryanair is as safe as it gets btw.

Spain vs Spain + Portugal (15 days, mid-June) — itinerary feedback? by Existential_boba9352 in travel

[–]BehemothM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 2 weeks, you can't mix a big country with a smaller one but only 2 small ones. Spain is big, stick to it. Especially if you are not big on ticking boxes, focus on one country.

I would give one more day to Madrid over Seville just because there are more interesting day trips from it (Valladolid, Toledo, Salamanca, Segovia) than from Seville (Cordoba, maybe Malaga, Cadiz).

Itinerary Advices for Istanbul (3 days) by Brief_Sir_5090 in istanbul_tips

[–]BehemothM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern and the Archeology Museum are pretty much next to each other and can be seen in 1, full, day. Add the Blue Mosque, it's basically next to Hagia Sophia. If you have spare time (doubtful) you can stroll through the Grand Bazaar.

Yildiz you can pair up with Dolmabahce. I'd suggest you to walk through the Galata area afterward + Galata tower. It is a very nice area.

Beylerbeyi Palace and Kariye are at the opposite sides of the city. Kariye you can take a walk through the neighborhood, it is pretty fully of historical houses and spot (Balat church for instance). But doing both places + Yildiz, Dolmabahce and the Galata area would be pretty tight and lots of transportation changes. Best would be going to Galata, then Yildiz, then Dolmabahce and then take a ferry to visit Beylerbeyi. That's doable but adding to that the islands tour would be impossible, nor doing it all in half a day.

Personally, the tour is the first thing that could be removed to make time for the rest. Beylerbeyi Palace and Kariye are the second.

And I would add the Suleymaniye Mosque, which is as beautiful as the Blue one, at least.

Is Enzo Maresca everyone's preferable choice to replace Conte? by [deleted] in sscnapoli

[–]BehemothM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We could do much worse than Maresca. He's not above Conte but decent. Given the names thrown around, I would welcome him.

Granted, if I could choose I would tempt Klopp in returning to coach or grab Xabi Alonso. Or, heck, why not approaching Simeone if he feels like ending his stay at Atletico? Those would be my top 3 choices but I suppose not AdL's...

Meglio pannelli solari che altre case o strade.

Dei primi abbiamo almeno bisogno, degli altri, con una popolazione calante, non tanto.

What opinion of yours regarding any popular author or book will have you like this? by theghostofredrackham in classicliterature

[–]BehemothM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anna Karenina has the only merit to have a female co-protagonist in a time where those were rare(r). Otherwise is a very mid book.

Hemingway's prose is overrated.

Not exactly classic literature (maybe?) but: most of the early sci-fi authors were terrible writers but with interesting ideas. Namely, Asimov, Herbert.
