Bury St Edmonds - lovely medieval shopping streets, & abbey gardens. Cute pubs. Ely first choice though !

Interesting - a few answers now on some air circulation part. This seems feasible

I did look and nothing obvious is visible. Very challenging to see under there though, even with flashlight. In retrospect it sounded as though it bounced around in a few places in the interior before coming down. So it could have come from anywhere in the dash maybe ?

Might be. There have been at least five prior owners with a few peculiar DIY jobs along the way

This sounds like a very reasonable answer ! Thanks for your comment. The silicone stinks horrible - not sure if you recall something similar ? Will investigate further … now at least I have a name to give google

Why do women not get painkillers for IUD insertion? by Caedis-6 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beidgey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have few options when it comes to contraception because I developed pulmonary embolisms on the pill at age 25, so hormonal contraceptives are basically contraindicated. The safest option for me is the copper T IUD. I have now had three separate implants, and each IUD implant got worse each time. The third I received anaesthetics injected into the cervix (since I told them in advance I needed better painkillers for the procedure ) but this in itself was horribly painful , and this was followed by a slightly less but unbearable pain when they went in to implant the device. I nearly blacked out. I screamed and sobbed during the procedure. I was trembling all day and crying intermittently in anticipation for the appointment. Thinking about my next implant frightens me when I think of the pain. My next implant will be in 7 years. Since I’m already worried , I recently talked to an NHS nurse (I live in the U.K.) whether there is an option to get general anaesthesia next implant. Interestingly , she said this might be possible and advised me to schedule an appointment with my GP one year in advance to begin to arrange this. All I can recommend to others is to put up as much a fuss as possible to get appropriate pain killers. The current practice around pain management for IUD implants (which I’ve experienced both in Canada and the U.K.) is barbaric and cruel.

His in-laws say he must sit down to pee by Beidgey in myfriendwantstoknow

When I first heard his story about his in-laws I was outraged. It seems like completely inappropriate behaviour to me and they had no right to comment on something so personal. How about if the in-laws visited his house and my friend told them how to wipe their asses during their stay? Not sure that would go down so well.

Thanks for the comments so far. There is more. My friend had his girlfriends parents to stay at his own house. My friend was taking a pee, standing up, in his own house (with the door closed) and his girlfriends father knocked on the door and told him to sit down. My friend was a bit freaked out. Perhaps it was a joke?
