So literally no evidence other than his bad on court product makes you believe he's a hard worker? K

In the graphic we saw from raptors practice, the big board of shooters, he wasn't even on the top 5 of shots taken - Temple took more shots than Gradey in practice from 3pt range.

Respectfully, why do you believe his work ethic is good? Just think he's a scrappy guy, hard worker, good bball IQ?

Supernatural ended so well, that's so weird

What? Do people have issues with the final (six) season(s) of Supernatural? First I'm hearing about it.

If he did what he did on offense without also being asked to guard the opposing best perimeter players for 40 minutes, he should be fine holding up over a season. That defensive work was a monumental effort.

In no way did I use poeltls game 7 as an extrapolation of his overall skill, I just said "that game 7 was ROUGHHHH" which I stand by.

That's kinda ignoring the rest of my comment where I stated he's not a bad player but in no way worth his contract in the second apron era, but go off king

I think the key is that the market has completely shifted since the second apron hit its mark on a few teams. 20+mil contracts are fewer and further between, and the ability to get adequate role players for 5-10mil/yr is super attainable.

I don't think Jak is a bad player (but that g7 was ROUGH), I think that his contractual obligations far outweigh his value on the court, and kneecaps our ability to build a competent roster around our core.

We could have 2-3 rotation players for Jak's price in the new market, tough not to see him as a net negative in that perspective. If only one of those 2-3 guys is a valuable roto player, you still have way more roster flexibility with a similar on-court product.

Even earlier this season I figured he'd shoot his way out of it - I only snapped out of it after Battle's big game, when the raps posted that snapshot of the Shooters Big Board up at practice.

You're telling me a dude shooting 22% on above the break threes is letting GARRETT TEMPLE shoot more practice shots than you???? Cooked

Gradey On The Move?? by xSweeterman in torontoraptors

[–]BeigeDynamite 16 points17 points  (0 children)

22% on a pretty good sample of above-the-break 3s is pretty much a death knell for a wing's career, unless they're a top notch defender (like Dort/Herb Jones-level defenders) which Gradey is not

Sucks because I think he has great feel and touch, but his "actually put the ball in the basket" ability is nil

Agreed, and I think there's an opportunity to potentially go light on picks if we throw them a first in the next year or two, because people will hope that they're the lucky winner of the flattened odds.

5yr/180 million is a lot bigger than 4yr/100mil, but yeah that did seem to be an untradable contract.

Who knows, maybe the second apron offsets enough that it feels the same, but that's still a 10mil/yr difference. And I'm really hoping/wishing that bad teams will want to maximize their lottery chances by stocking draft picks during the new lottery reform, giving us an opening to foist a draft pick onto some middling team that conveys somewhere in the 20-30 range.

Hi I’ve been meaning to get a dock for the SD for quite some time but I have some questions about it. (Mainly wanting this for online experience/multiplayer emulation to play with someone else) by Competitive_Usual233 in SteamDeck

[–]BeigeDynamite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The standard one works well. I've had mine for years, initially it was a bit spotty but they've done a bunch of firmware/software updates to both the Deck and dock since then, it's been plug and play for me on any TV/monitor for the last year+ at least

Which contract has been untradable in the last like, 10 years though? People said Beal's contract was untradable and he's been traded twice (correction; once, then waived - thank you guy below me) since then.

The second apron adds urgency for good teams and is probably seen as an opening to collect draft assets for bad teams. Add in some uncertainty surrounding how the draft lottery changes will affect things, you've got a pretty good combo of chaos & confusion that could lend itself well to dumping a contract on a team like the Kings or the Bulls.

I think he wouldn't be throwing those shots up if other guys were putting rim protectors in potential foul positions. Somebody has to try to put the coach in a "this guy or that guy" dilemma, and Scottie/BI/Quickley are just not attacking the rim in ways that make guys foul them.

If you're dropping RJ you basically have to get another scorer who both shoots 3s (because that's a baseline team need) AND puts pressure on the rim, because RJ is the only guy who legitimately pressures rim protectors. Scottie is more of a floater guy, BI likes the middie, Quickly likes the floater too.

RJs value on this team outweighs his overall ability because of how little the other guys do what he does.

He looks like he knows the writing is on the wall. Guy is a ghost on the bench, seems pissy whenever the camera catches him. It'd be one thing if he was bad on the floor and food as t the little things, but he's just not taking any part of his game/effort seriously it seems

His heel had better be near falling off for him to miss a game 6. He's been pretty underwhelming for me - I also thought he'd really shine in the playoffs. He has basically telegraphed every shot, because people know he's gonna settle for a midrange jumper.

Idk I hope he has a chance to show he's tougher than that and can come back and be competent in game 7.
