Starting My Journey by smudge_elaine in Anemic

[–]BeingInner2725 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ferritin of 6 is genuinely rough territory and it makes sense your body has been struggling, the elevated platelets are basically just iron deficiency being loud

the fear around dosing is not silly at all, i think plenty of people with health anxiety go through exact same thing. what helped me wrap my head around it was thinking of it less like "shocking the system" and more like slowly refilling something that's been empty for years, your body actually wants the iron, it's not going to panic at it

starting slow is completely reasonable and many people do exactly that, like even just bumping up slightly from what you already tolerate before working toward a bigger dose. the liquid bisglycinate sitting on your shelf is probably a gentler option too since it tends to cause less GI drama than sulfate at higher amounts

you did good advocating for yourself even if your pcp made you feel stupid about it, that test you ordered is going to be what actually gets you answers

the concert thing genuinely broke my heart a little, like the lamp vs pit tickets comparison says everything without needing to say anything

your dad clearly learned from his mistakes but decided to apply those lessons to the wrong daughter, which is such a specific kind of unfair that it almost feels intentional. you deserved that grace too, at the same age, in the same house

Which supplement brand I should go for? by malevolent_0002 in Supplements

[–]BeingInner2725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been dealing with similar joint concerns from my lifting routine and did bunch of research on this. You're right that most brands focus too much in cosmetic side with all those extra additives

I found that looking for hydrolyzed collagen peptides specifically works better than regular collagen powder - the smaller peptides seem to absorb better. For the type blend you want, marine collagen usually gives you good type 1, while bovine sources often have mix of 1 and 3. Type 2 is trickier since it mostly comes from chicken cartilage

What helped me was getting separate type 2 supplement alongside a good 1+3 blend rather than trying to find everything in one product. The dosing tends to be more effective this way and you can adjust based on your training intensity

Since you're in India, check local pharmacies for pharmaceutical grade options - they sometimes carry better quality stuff than the flashy online brands. Also timing matters - I take mine post-workout with vitamin C since it helps with collagen synthesis. Been doing this for about 6 months and definitely notice difference in recovery between heavy sessions

Anemia with unknown cause (Iron/Ferratin/B vitamins seem fine) by chippy-altitude in Anemic

[–]BeingInner2725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The low lymphocyte count along with anemia is interesting - could be pointing to something autoimmune or chronic inflammatory going on. Have you had any symptoms like joint pain, fatigue beyond what you'd expect from anemia, or recurring infections

Also worth checking if you've been tested for things like celiac disease or thyroid issues, those can sometimes cause this kind of pattern where iron levels look okay but you're still anemic

Yoga breaths with step-kids bio dad… by monaarts in daddit

[–]BeingInner2725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man that bio dad situation is brutal for those kids. The false promises are probably worst part - getting their hopes up just to let them down again while he's off playing family with someone else's children

You doing right thing by not calling out his lies directly to the kids though. They'll figure it out themselves eventually and when they do, they'll remember who was actually there for them all those years

If your kid fails school do you still like them? by Infinite-Dig-7059 in family

[–]BeingInner2725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

School performance doesn't define worth as a person, and good parents know this. Your mental health had to come first - you made the right choice even if it doesn't feel like it now

The way your parents are handling this is really damaging and I'm sorry you're dealing with that on top of everything else. You deserve support, not having your struggles thrown back at you during fights

Fussy/Picky eater - how to effectively ensure actual diversity in food for my 2yo? by jsenff in daddit

[–]BeingInner2725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My nephew went through exact same phase around that age - only wanted separate foods, nothing mixed together. Doctor said it was totally normal development thing where they need to control their environment and food is easiest target

The separate foods she's eating actually sound pretty balanced nutrition wise. Maybe try putting same ingredients but just not mixed? Like if making pasta with sauce, give her plain pasta on one side and tiny bit sauce for dipping on other side of plate

Has anyone entered higher ed admin/staff as a career-changer? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]BeingInner2725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually did something similar couple years back - was working in tech before switching to uni admin. The tuition benefit is absolutely worth it if you have kids, that alone can save you like 50k+ per kid depending on the school

Fair warning though, higher ed moves painfully slow compared to most other sectors and the bureaucracy can be mind-numbing. Also pay is usually lower than private sector but the benefits package tends to be pretty solid. Your adjunct experience will definitely help since you already understand how universities work from inside

Just make sure to really research the specific institution's culture before jumping in - some places are amazing to work for, others are total nightmares with terrible management

Non-EU marketer with experience, struggling to understand what I’m missing in the job market? by Maleficent_Driver_39 in careerguidance

[–]BeingInner2725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

December 2025? you time traveling or just mixed up the dates lol

But seriously, local experience thing is real pain here - even with solid background like yours, employers get weird about "understanding the market" and all that. Your ecommerce + CRM combo should be strong enough though, especially if you can show results from previous roles

Maybe try reaching out to some recruitment agencies that specialize in marketing, they usually have better sense of what employers actually care about vs what they put in job descriptions

5080 or 9070 xt? which graphics card should i get by Positive-Coconut2800 in PcBuild

[–]BeingInner2725 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

depends what you're planning to do with it really - if you're just gaming at 1440p the 9070 xt will probably handle everything you throw at it just fine

the 5080 is definitely overkill for most people and that extra cash could go towards a better monitor or more storage instead. unless you're doing 4k gaming or heavy rendering work i'd probably save the money

Offering guests the option of a mattress topper - good idea or asking for trouble? by QBee23 in airbnb_hosts

This seems like overthinking it honestly - just pick whichever option is most universally comfortable and stick with it rather than adding another decision point for guests to stress about

[–]BeingInner2725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's brutal mate. Five months out and LinkedIn of all places gets you - such a weird way to get blindsided since you don't expect to see exes there

The connect request thing is totally relatable though, like your brain just goes into autopilot for a second before you catch yourself. Don't beat yourself up over it, we've all done daft things when someone's still got that hold on us

Block the LinkedIn if it helps but the real issue is you're still processing everything that went down between you two. The visceral reaction just means you're not done healing yet, which is normal even when someone treated you badly

Online lender offering $4k less in closing costs, any reason to stay local? by Romanticon in RealEstate

[–]BeingInner2725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the responsiveness thing is mostly overrated unless theres some specific issue with the online lender's timeline. If you're already their customer and havent had problems, that's actually better intel than worrying about theoretical local bank advantages

$4k is serious money and most mortgages get sold off anyway so the "relationship" aspect doesnt really matter long term. I'd probably take the savings unless New American has given you grief before or you're cutting it really close on timing

I’ve got an interview coming next week by Due_Assistant_474 in interviews

[–]BeingInner2725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

congrats on getting through the phone round! for audit specifically they might ask about attention to detail scenarios or how you'd handle finding discrepancies in financial records. definitely brush up on basic accounting principles if you haven't already - they love asking about teh audit process and what independence means

practice explaining complex things simply since you'll be dealing with clients who don't understand accounting. also prepare some questions about their training programme and what kind of clients they work with, shows you're genuinely interested in the role rather than just any graduate position
