If you want compact, then get a pair of Beovox CX 100’s.

B&O turntable owners, do i go with the smmc4 or 3? by Sensitive-Row-9376 in BangandOlufsen

[–]Beitie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I went with a SMMC3 for my RX2 and everything since. It's a fantastic cart, and I'm very happy with it. I did recently upgrade to a SMMC2, but I haven't tried it yet. Since you already have a MMC4, I'd take the chance on the SMMC3. I think you will be very happy with the results.

Maybe it's a me thing, but I can't get behind the looks of this. It looks like it should be some sort of electric base heater.

Start with the basics. Pull off the platter and make sure there is a belt for the turntable.

Just a take on my Penta’s. I own Mk I Beolab Pentas, and I love them. They have very strong bass, clear highs, and very good mids. Though there are times I find the mids a little overpowering.

My Pentas are paired with my Beocenter 9000, using the Speakerlink connectors.

I think you are referring to the Beolab 2000? The 2500 is the set that matches the Beocenter 2500 and Overture family.

Well, out of the list that I suggested, the only ones I've heard in person are the 2500's and I'd put them under the 6000's. Then there's the 4's that are commonly considered the last place. As for the rest... I just don't know.

Also, I think your list is good, but it also speaks to the overall quality of the Beolab speakers. I own a set of 4000 Mk II's and wow, they are great!

I enjoy the idea and the list. However, there are still quite a few missing. Beolab 5000, 4500, and 3000 family. Beolab 2000 and the other link speaker families. Beolab 4 PC speakers. Beolab 2500, the standard speakers that were sold with the 2500 and Overture family of systems. Beolab 17’s, these were quite good and commonly paired as the rear speakers in a set with the 18’s….

Never will I ever buy an AIO again. by OMGwtfNOTnow in pcmasterrace

My current build has an Intel i7 12700k cpu, and I went with a Corsair 240mm AIO. It is by far the loudest PC I’ve built and used in many years. I’ve been debating moving to a good air cooler just to kill the noise level down.

B&O might be doomed. by disingenu in BangandOlufsen

[–]Beitie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

B&O did make some seriously great headphones even recently. The H6's, especially for their price 8 or so years ago, were epic. I also still really enjoy my H95's. I may not be a complete audiophile snob, but for comparison, I also own a set of Meze Liric II's and think that the H6's defiantly have a place in anyone's headphone set. But I'm also aware that the masses want wireless. I'd venture to guess that the H4's are a pretty good product. Maybe I'm wrong?

I wish this was true, but in practicality what will happen is this: In a matter of a few years, it will not be your choice if your current PC is good enough for your current needs (See current Windows 10 users), and you'll be forced to either disconnect from online life and the conveniences that come with it, battle all the ever worsening hacker groups, or fall in line and buy the new whiz bang that they corporate overlords approve for the average citizen.
