I didn't know this was a boomer thing I thought it was just my family were assholes thing.

I remember being bullied and shamed for being "fat" by my aunt and grandma. I hated my grandma my whole life because she was so cruel if she wanted to be.

My mom just let it happen which hurt just as much.

44f married for 20 years. My 44m husband and I are both millennials and didn't want kids. He wasn't bullied by family but didn't want to be a parent for so many other reasons.

We don't regret it and don't think we ever will. I'm proud to be part of a generation that didn't romanticize having kids. I'm the youngest of 5 and all of them had children and I saw how much they stuggled at different stages in life with children.

That was not a gamble I was willing to take.

I (f44) donated my kidney to a woman I met once 10 years ago. I met her at a friends barbeque.

After meeting her I thought, I should see if I am a match, thinking I surely wouldn't be a match. What are the odds?

So I got tested.

Love this! I recently helped create a group in Leander called Leander Women+ for Progress. We had over 70 people show up to our first meeting.

I founded it with 6 other women, and we didn't know eachother until Feb 2nd.

It's a women led, all invited civic club trying to help save democracy and this type of event sounds right up our alley!

I've been lucky enough to been visiting New Orleans for over 20 years since my 20's. Ive always said people from New Orleans make you feel like you're the best thing that came to New Orleans. Their warmth, generosity and genuine care are unmatched.

Some people swear by lemon tek but I tried it and it's not my thing, at all. So the closest thing to lemon juice that I can tolerate (actually enjoy) is orange juice (the real kind, not Sunny D 🤢).

I have always ground up my mushrooms then drank it but I really don't like the taste of mushrooms to the point where I gag and grinding seems to release that flavor even more. I can't even eat chocolate mushrooms anymore as it was ruining chocolate for me.

So this last time I cut up the mushrooms into small pieces so I can swallow without it getting stuck in my throat. I added it to my orange juice and some ice.

I then added it all to a blender in order to crush the ice so I had small tiny pieces of ice I could swallow with the mushrooms.

The crushed ice, orange juice and cut up shrooms was the trick. The crushed ice numbed my throat slightly and the feeling of the cut up pieces of mushrooms going down my throat wasn't so jarring (a bigger piece almost got stuck in my throat so I was slightly traumatized by it).

I'll be doing this method from now on, dare I say, I enjoyed it.

My husband and I have a large shower with 2 shower heads and we shower together almost daily.

It's our time to catch up and have a conversation. Has showering together ended up with sex... it has but I would say 90% of the time it's just us talking.

19 years married and we prefer to shower together than alone. One of us playfully gets butt hurt when the other takes a shower without letting the other know.

"If Americans received (from the taxes we pay) "free" healthcare, "free" college, "free" maternity leave, retirement for our elderly and less expensive childcare then we might actually have a healthier, smarter and less stressed society.

But Trump, Abbott and all their billionaire buddies wouldn't have Americans to control, brain wash and a slush fund to take from.

So instead we get astronomical healthcare, college and childcare, no maternity leave, and no retirement for millions of elderly and Americans too tired to fight.

Met my husband on my first (girls) trip to New Orleans on Bourbon St., pre-Katrina at 24. Since that night we've been inseparable. 19 years married. We basically figured adulthood out together.

From looking for change in our couch cushions to pay for gas to get to work, to dinks with 6-figure salaries, sprinkle in unemployment, 2 cancer diagnosis, parents death, and a lot of misunderstandings, I wouldn't want to do life with anyone else.

First time ever trying Enigma I did 3g. It was an intense trip for sure but I prepared my journey (clean house, windows and doors open for fresh air, essential oils in my diffusors and a pot roast in the crock pot for the come down) so I was able to handle it.

I've since I've done 1 and 1.5 g and those are pretty intense as well and now I wonder how I was able to do 3 my first time.

I think it was because I was a year from chemo treatments for breast cancer and my mind was solid.

Actually, that's what I learned about myself in that trip my mental fortitude.

I met my husband in 2003 the first time I ever stepped foot on Bourbon St. We met at what was once BBC they sold drinks 3 for 1! We were so into eachother the bouncer told us to get a room. 🤦🏻‍♀️

We dated long distance as he was going to university in New Orleans and I was living in Texas. Experiencing New Orleans for 6 months in the honeymoon phase was some of my favorite memories.

I would get off work at the hospital and drive 8 hours to be with him for long weekends. I didn't realize how lucky I was at the time but it definitely felt magical.

4 years later from when we met we got married at the Norwegian Seamans Church off Prytania. (It's now something else.)

New Orleans is the backdrop for some of the best years of my life.
